8 Simple products The Simple Product type is used for products that generally have a single configuration (one-size-fits-all). Stock is allocated at the simple product level. 9 Understanding Attributes Product attributes let you: Include custom fields for additional product information Create a configuration option for configurable products (size, color, etc) Create an attribute to use for filtering in layered navigation Create a shared attribute between otherwise unrelated products in order to assign promo or other conditions to those products Config options Custom fields A configurable product page Configuration settings to save you hassles Configuration in Magento sets the default behavior of the site and modules. Almost exclusively in the System menu. Most config settings can be overridden for stores or even individual object instances in the store.
