4 Extraordinary Panthers one act play The Ridge One Act Play company had a fantastic season and several students received awards: Best Technician Roxy Urquiza Honorable Mention All Star Cast Christopher Cabral and Rachel Nabarrete All Star Cast Alma Dominguez The final performances of the "Passion Play" will take place on Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16 at 7 PM in the Fine Arts Center. UIL Academic Teams Our UIL Academic team had a strong showing against very tough competition. The following students received awards and will compete at Regionals on April First Place Calculator Applications Tony Nguyen Second Place Computer Applications Ashlee Hays Runner Ups/Fourth Place Computer Applications Sergio Diaz News Writing Hector Osegueda Computer Science Brandon James ridge tennis The Varsity Tennis team finished in the top 10 teams this past weekend in the Abilene Tournament. There were over 30 teams and 600 players participating. 2nd place in B bracket for girls singles Kameryn Chambers 2nd place in B bracket for girls doubles Sasha Heorhiyeva and Lynell Samreth Finished with a 4 1 record Kayla Chanthavong and Damien Walker Lost to our own team in the final match of the day Amber Bragg and Nick DeWalt Ridge Softball Ridge Softball had a huge victory on Tuesday night as they defeated Timber Creek 4 0. This was a first in Fossil Ridge history! UIL BAnd Concert & Sight Reading Congratulations to the members of the Fossil Ridge Band! On Wednesday and Thursday, the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band groups competed at the UIL Concert & Sight Reading contest. This is the first time in school history that all three of the bands received a 1st division rating from all judges in both the concert and sight reading portion of the contest. We are so proud of our band students for their superior performances and for this incredible achievement! Ribbon/Sixth Place Spelling and Vocabulary Sam Ash
5 Track and Field BPA and Men's Warehouse The Ridge Track and Field team had a great showing at the meet this week at Northwest High School. The following students are Area Qualifiers: 1st place 400m Sean Mercer with a time of Business Professionals of America hosted a special meeting with Men's Warehouse on Thursday. They presented a workshop called "Dress for Success" where they informed students about appropriate dress in the workplace. Students were also given interview tips to help them secure a great job now and after they graduate. 2nd place Varsity High Jump Kaityln Lowery 4th place Varsity Long Jump Tiffany Roberts 4x400 with a time of 3:22 Algemar Kennel Munib Abid Jorge Rivera Sean Mercer Javon Boatner 1st place Triple Ryan Franklin 3rd place Shot Put Bryce Baccarini Pole Vault Connor Gregston Tori Lewis took 1st place in the JV girls shot put along with teammates Mycha Mackey and Lauren Gaither placing 2nd and 4th in the JV girls high jump. Varsity Baseball Varsity boys Baseball is at it again! They defeated Denton Ryan Tuesday night in extra innings, 5 2. The Panthers are now the district lead with a 6 1 record.
