19 Conclusions Azerbaijan a country historically associated with oil and gas as it has been home to many discoveries in the field Its energy role has been on the spotlight since mid 90 s with the signing of 30 oil contracts with international oil companies A source of reliable energy as it has honoured its delivery commitments and ensured consistent flow of energy Its energy role set to increase further with the completion of gas projects and pipelines The centrality of energy policy in Azerbaijan s foreign policy
