11 International Technical Cooperation Since the start of the German development assistance about 50 years ago, the PTB International Technical Cooperation has been active worldwide in developing countries and countries in transition. 50 years of experience with developing countries 11

15 Our approach Our project work encompasses all elements of quality infrastructure. We consider these to be a systemic unit. 19 Quality infrastructure we are looking for partner-orientated solutions The support and development of such a network is a great and costly challenge not only for developing countries. Many of our partner countries are not in the position to accomplish this with their own resources. Therefore, solutions are conceivable that envisage an approach based on division of labor and are oriented on regional economic communities. 19
