Cat UPS provides immediately power to ride through disturbances and conditions power from the source. When integrated with other Cat products, including generator sets, automatic transfer switches (ATS) and switchgear you can be assured of the cleanest, most reliable source of backup power protection. Generator Sets Cat generator sets are available in diesel and gas and can deliver consistent and reliable performance, in any condition. NMC Power Systems offers Caterpillar diesel generator sets (12kW to 17,460kW) that lead the industry in durability, reliability, and efficiency. Cat gas generator engines offer high reliability, durability and flexibility to burn fuels from the low energy landfill gas and bio-gas to pipeline natural gas and field gases. 2. Switchgear Cat switchgear provides paralleling capability for multiple generator sets, with single or multiple points of utility connection for simple or complex applications. With units available from 208V to 36kV, Cat switchgear also offers monitoring and control of your complete solutions, including Cat ATS and Cat UPS. 3. Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Caterpillar offers a broad range of ATS products, with digital microprocessor controls, to suit any application from a single ATS installation to a complex multi- ATS/generator switchgear system. Both open and closed transition designs are available with optional bypass/isolation and delay features in sizes from 40 to 5,000 amps. 4. Cat UPS means reliable power protection for critical applications. With up to 97% total system efficiency, minimal upkeep and the lowest operating cost in the industry, the Cat UPS systems efficiently and reliably protects critical loads from a variety of power problems. It provides total power conditioning and supports critical loads during the transition period from utility power to stand by power, with multiple unit parallel capability available. 4 UPS Double Conversion - Battery Configuration The Cat Double Conversion Battery UPS is developed to be a leading source of power in the event of a load loss. With battery technology on the forefront, knowing about UPS batteries and how they operate will help you extend the life of your batteries and prevent the risk of unexpected load loss from a failing UPS battery. Cat high-rate UPS batteries provide the instantaneous power today s UPS needs to sustain critical emergency power systems. For added strength and durability, these batteries are housed in a reinforced flame-retardant polypropylene case and cover for long life performance. VRLA vs Wet cell Cat UPS equipment can accommodate two kinds of batteries used in UPSs:» Valve regulated leadacid (VRLA) batteries, also known as sealed or maintenance-free» Wet-cell (also called flooded-cell). With lower up-front costs, VRLA batteries have a shorter lifetime - around five years. Wet-cell batteries can last up to 20 years, but require more advanced maintenance.
