3 A Short History of the Church and its Pastors Ebenezer Congregational/Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, Sheboygan, Wisconsin 1431 St.Claire Street. Dissolved 1997; now Hmong Ebenezer Missouri Synod. Church Records exist for the period (although only 1 death listed in 1923) Pastors George Henry Graf, born , died , father John Christian Graf, wife: Catharina Elizabeth Clauser/Klauser born , died in Portland, Oregon. George Henry Graf served 1911 to Feb 15,1914. After meeting June 14, 1911, they organized as "Erste Deutsche Evangelische Lutherische Kongretionalen Ebenezer Gemeinde". They were received into membership with the Congregational Church and student George Graf was ordained as first pastor. In 1912 the lot was purchased for $860 from John & Mary Mueller and church cornerstone laid Nov 3, 1912 and dedicated Pentecost Sunday 1913 at a cost of about $16,000. Catherina does not appear in the Church records. Clauser Connection: The author's grandfather, Johann George Clauser (b.1862), had a sister, Catharina Elisabeth Clauser (b.1872), who was married to George Henry Graf, the first pastor of Ebenezer. The siblings, parents, and grandparents of Johann George Clauser are shown in the accompanying Family Group Records. Rudolf Wilken served Feb 1, 1915 to October 15, 1917, from Au Gres, Michigan. Friedrich C. Dodzuweit served November 15, 1917 to April 23, 1919, he was from Goring, Nebraska. June 2, 1918, the congregation applied for membership with the Wisconsin District of Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio and other states (now The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod) and was accepted at Watertown Convention June 29, Frederick Proehl, Chaplain U.S. Army, served June 22, 1919 to May 1, Pastor Proehl served Our Savior, Sheboygan (on High Ave) in May Ernest Stoeckardt served July 4, 1926 to April 22, Wife Erna Mencke. Erich Keller served August 1941 to Wife Erna Reineck died September 4, Wife Mathilda Forster died November 22, 1958 The German service was discontinued in Victor G. Meyer served March 1970 to September Clarence Walter Stangohr served 1977
