14 Bio fuels It is a small step for the oil terminals to store biofuels. The share of biofuels is approximately equal to the mandatory percentage that energy producers are required to blend (approximately 5 % in 2012). Two biodiesel plants are located in the Port of Amsterdam fed by organic residues and rapeseed oil.

Biomass transhipment fits in seamlessly with other transhipment of agri bulk Amsterdam is perfectly suited as a renowned energy hub and having expertise of similar cargo flows. Growth potential: Five Coalfired energy plants in the Netherlands already blend biomass.

28 Potential locations Wind energy in Amsterdam Amsterdam sustainable target: 40 % CO2 reduction. Wind is the most profitable sustainable energy in The Netherlands. Amsterdam looks for locations at its own territory. The Port area is the best location in Amsterdam

29 Wind energy in the port of Amsterdam Current Capacity is 65 MW and the growing target for the port area is a total Capacity of 100 MW. By Financial participation, local companies and public can fulfill there own sustainable ambitions with wind energy in the Port area. 29
