This bid process typically results in pricing 15-20% below market and richer benefit designs. Benchmarking As part of our scope of services, Alliant s service team will utilize our database of healthcare/hospital clients, as well as larger national benchmark surveys and statistical data to provide benchmarking comparisons of the your benefit plan design and cost structure. A common trend today among employers is to carve out the Pharmacy Benefit from the insurance company and have the benefit administered through a Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM). These PBM s can match your current copay structure and maintain your level of benefit, while offering drugs at a significantly lower discounts to retail costs and lower dispensing fees than the current carriers. Additionally, a PBM could offer rebates back to each client that normally would be passed from the pharmaceutical companies to the insurance carriers.
