1 How to add photos to a Photo Gallery Page 1 of 5 *YOU MUST HAVE A GALLERY CREATED BEFORE YOU CAN ADD PHOTOS TO A GALLERY! YOU MUST HAVE GOOD QUALITY PHOTOS BEFORE YOU ADD PHOTOS TO A GALLERY *SEE THE TIPS, TRICKS & TIDBITS OF INFORMATION SECTION AT THE END, ON HOW TO EDIT PHOTOS! How to add photos to a Photo Gallery 1. Use the iadmin link from the Login Portal. a. It will be the very last link at the bottom of the page! b. Use your username and password. i. firstname_lastname ii. password *NOTE: IF YOU ARE CONTINUING FROM HOW TO CREATE A PHOTO GALLERY, SKIP TO STEP 3! 2. Click on manage photo gallery 3. Click on Add a New Photo 4. Choose a Category a. This is the Gallery Title from when you originally created the gallery. 5. Create a Title a. This will appear above the image. *If you are not sure which photo you are uploading yet, you can skip to the next step and come back to entering a title once you choose which photo to uploading.

2 How to add photos to a Photo Gallery Page 2 of 5 6. Browse to where the image is saved a. It MUST be a.jpg file Double click the file name or select the file and click Open 7. Create Alt Text a. Easiest is to copy and paste the title you entered above. i. This is the text that will be displayed or will be read out loud when someone uses either assistive technologies to read web pages or someone sets their web pages to be viewed as read only. 8. Description THIS IS NOT A REQUIRED FIELD a. This will appear as the caption of the photo. 9. Click Save 10. *As soon as you click save a File Upload in Progress box should appear. a. For Firefox only this box will never go away. i. Simply use the red X to close the window when the system returns you to the beginning Gallery screen. *You will know that you have successfully added a photo to a gallery when the system returns you to the beginning Gallery screen. 11. YOU MUST UPLOAD PHOTOS ONE AT A TIME! a. Repeat steps 3 10 until you have uploaded all the photos into their respective gallery.

3 How to add photos to a Photo Gallery Page 3 of 5 *Once you have added all the photos into the gallery, you can sort the order the photos will appear; if you don t sort, the photos will appear in alphabetical order by title. 12. Click on the + (plus sign) to open the gallery to view photos you uploaded. a. This will open the gallery and reveal all your photos under that gallery name. 13. Determine what order you want each photo to be for this gallery by placing a sort order number in the corresponding box next to your pictures. a. Sort by 2 s or 5 s to accommodate additional photos that you may add to this gallery at a later date. b. Keeps you from having to re-sort all your photos every time. 14. Click Sort to save the sort order. *REMEMBER: 1. Do not identify students by first and last name and verify they are not on the opt-out list. a. *Check the Opt-Out Report in PowerTeacher if you are unsure. 2. Galleries must be created before they can be put on a page. 3. You can have one individual photo attached to a content module without needing to create a gallery. 4. JPEG files ONLY! 5. Good quality photos a. Use Microsoft Picture Manager with PC s and iphoto with Mac s to edit photos as needed.

4 How to add photos to a Photo Gallery Page 4 of 5 *Tips, Tricks & Tidbits of Information: Try using multiple browser windows/tabs - one with the iadmin system, one with your website page open to view changes in real time.» If you use Firefox or IE7, Atomic Learning has atoms on Tab browsing: Don t forget to refresh your live/public window/tab to see changes. Mac= holding down the / key+ R PC= press F5 Make sure photos are good quality photos o Subjects of the photo are prominent on the photo o Photo is in focus o Not too dark or too light o Verify there are no students in the photo that are on the opt-out list. Edit photos before hand if needed PC s have Microsoft Office Picture Manager o Macs have iphoto From your dock *or

5 How to add photos to a Photo Gallery Page 5 of 5 Once you have edited your photo(s), you will need to know which folder the image is saved in. Picture manager shows the file location in left navigation of the application. Image title information is provided in iphoto so that you can search your computer. o This will help you find where your edited version is saved on your computer. o *PHOTOS WILL NOT NECESSARILY BE LOCATED IN A FOLDER NAMED THE SAME AS THE ALBUM NAME YOU CREATED IN IPHOTO Contact the help desk if you are unsure how to find your edited photos.
