1 Cross Country Skiing High Performance Program The Cross Country Committee (SAXC) is seeking expressions of interest for the following positions with the Cross Country Skiing High Performance Program for the 2013/2014 season: 2014 World Junior Championship Coach; 2014 World Junior Championship Team Manager; 2013/2014 Continental Cup Team Coach; and, 2013 World University Winter Games (WUWG) Coach. Please note that not all positions will necessarily be filled and that it is possible that some positions may be combined. The World Junior Championship Team will likely consist of 4-8 athletes aged Additional U23 athletes from the Continental Cup or World Cup teams may potentially join the team for the 2014 World Junior/U23 Championship in Val di Fiemme in Italy. The WUWG Team will potentially contain 6-10 athletes and will focus solely on the WUWG in Val di Fiemme in Italy, Dec, The Continental Cup Team will likely consist of 2-4 athletes aiming to reach the A- Qualification standard for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi 2014 and/or to compete at the 2014 World U23 Championship. Position Title: 2014 World Junior Championship Coach Date: May 2013 Reports To: Cross Country Skiing High Performance Manager Contract Period: December January 2014 The World Junior Championship Coach will primarily be responsible for coaching the Australian Junior Team in the lead-up to and at the 2014 World Junior / U23 Championships in Val di Fiemme in Italy. The WJC Coach will be expected to travel with the team on an international tour for approximately 6-8 weeks from mid December 2013 until the first week of February 2014.The WJC Coach will also be involved in training camps in Australia between September and December. Remuneration details are yet to be finalised however at minimum all travel and living expenses will be covered for the duration of the tour. Agreed expenses will also be covered during the lead-up period to the tour, for example at team training camps and for communication with athletes and other team support staff. In the lead-up to the international tour: Determining the 2013/2014 international competition and training schedule together with High Performance Manager and WJC Team Manager; Liaising with athletes, parents and personal coaches of athletes; Coaching on Spring training camp(s) for WJC team athletes; and Coordinating athlete preparation for the 2013/2014 international season and building a professional culture amongst the team athletes. Coordinating daily training of athletes; Assisting athletes with technique development; Monitoring athlete training programs and general wellbeing;

2 Motivating athletes and assisting with mental training strategies; Educating athletes on waxing and equipment maintenance; Providing athletes with advice on sports nutrition, self-massage, health management and other factors contributing towards a high performance lifestyle Providing race support for competitions; and Assisting with daily team management. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to make decisions under pressure. Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire athletes and assist them in striving towards their goals. Demonstrated race support skills including classic waxing, glide waxing, split timing, and race day organisation. Demonstrated ability to write, manage and adjust individual training programs. Demonstrated knowledge of advanced skiing techniques and ability to refine athletes technical skills. Demonstrated willingness to facilitate athlete education. Current cross country skiing coach accreditation. Experience in coaching elite Australian or international athletes. Experience in coaching/managing international teams. Position Title: 2014 World Junior Championship Manager Date: May 2013 Reports To: Cross Country Skiing High Performance Manager Contract Period: December January 2014 The World Junior Championship Team Manager will primarily be responsible for the management of the Australian Junior Team in the lead-up to and at the 2014 World Junior / U23 Championships in Val di Fiemme in Italy. The WJC Manager will be expected to travel with the team on an international tour for approximately 6-8 weeks from mid December 2013 until the first week of February The WJC Manager will also be involved in training camps in Australia between September and December. Managing Spring training camp for WJC Team athletes Daily team management; Coordinating team land transport and driving team vehicles; Management of team budget and accounting of all team expenses; Assisting WJC Team Coach with coordination of training sessions; Providing race support for competitions; Entering athletes in competitions and attending team captains meeting; Writing race reports after competitions; and Collecting images of athletes during training and competition for promotional purposes Demonstrated communication skills with athletes, parents, coaches and the wider skiing community. Demonstrated organisational skills, in particular in relation to coordinating accommodation and transport. Demonstrated financial management and budgeting skills. Demonstrated ability to manage a team of junior athletes. Demonstrated race day organisation skills. Experience in coaching/managing elite Australian or international athletes. Experience in coaching/managing international teams in Europe. Position Title: 2013 Continental Cup Team Coach/Manager Date: May 2013 Reports To: Cross Country Skiing High Performance Manager Contract Period: TBC b/w Nov 2013 & Feb 2014 The Continental Cup Team Coach/Manager will work closely with the High Performance Manager and World Cup Coach and primarily be responsible for supporting Australian Team athletes competing in Europe at Continental Cup level and aiming to reach the A-Qualification standard for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi 2014 and/or to compete at the 2014 World U23 Championship. The COC Team Coach/Manager will be expected to travel with the team on an international tour between November 2013 and February The start date for the tour will be confirmed following the Australian winter. The COC Coach may also be required to assist with race support at other levels of competition including World Cup and the World Junior Championship.

5 Position Title: 2013 WUWG Cross Country Skiing Coach Date: May 2013 Reports To: Cross Country Skiing High Performance Manager Australian University Sport High Performance Manager Contract Period: November December 2013 The WUWG Cross Country Skiing Coach will primarily be responsible for preparing athletes for and supporting athletes at the 2013 World University Winter Games in Val di Fiemme in Italy in December 2013 The WUWG Coach will be expected to travel with the team for approximately 4-6 weeks. The start date for the tour will be confirmed following the Australian winter. Please note that SAXC will nominate their preferred WUWG Cross Country Skiing Coach to Australian University Sport and that the final appointment will be made by Australian University Sport. Remuneration details are yet to be finalised however at minimum all travel and living expenses will be covered for the duration of the tour.
