Problem-solving is a skill that everyone uses each and every day. Your Challenge: Working together with your teammates, solve the puzzle that you have been given and gather clues in order to discover the hidden message. Location: 2nd Floor, Great Hall Benches on silver curve wall Crew Member Signature
16 Today, you will work as a team to complete a series of challenges. Just like at a race, NASCAR teams must complete a series of activities and inspections before they can race. After each challenge, a NASCAR Hall of Fame Crew member will officially sign off that you have completed the challenge (like a real NASCAR official does before a race). As you complete each stop, you will receive a piece to a puzzle. To master your last challenge and to make it to Victory Lane, you will need to complete the puzzle. Good luck now, GO! CHALLENGE 1: TEAMWORK NASCAR is all about teamwork. Drivers, mechanics, engineers, crew members and car chiefs must all work together. A critical part of the team is the Pit Crew. Your Challenge: Work together to complete changing a tire, refueling and jacking up the car in the fastest time. Your group will have one practice run and two official runs to get your best time. Location: 3rd Floor, Race Week Pit Challenge Your Challenge: Drive! You will drive three laps around a computersimulated track. You will drive solo, working to keep the best line and speed you can. Location: 3rd Floor, Race Week Qualifying Crew Member Signature CHALLENGE 3: PHYSICAL APTITUDE NASCAR team members, especially the driver and pit crew, need to be physically fit and aware. They need to be able to move quickly and react to their surroundings. Many teams hire trainers and nutritionists to ensure everyone is healthy and up to the challenge. Your Challenge: Each person in the group will need to perform each of the following tests. The Official will record your results. Test 1: Hand-Eye: Measure how quickly you can catch a falling ruler. Test 2: Quickness: Complete the obstacle course. Test 3: Physical Fitness: Complete 3 jumping jacks, 3 situps and 3 squats; Repeat. Location: 1st Floor, Theater Lobby Memorable Moment cases Crew Member Signature Crew Member Signature CHALLENGE 2: DRIVING SKILLS Driving takes a lot of talent and skill. A NASCAR driver accelerates at speeds up to mph, which is like driving across a football field in one second. Drivers need to know where the best line or position is on the track as they drive their laps. CHALLENGE 4: KNOWLEDGE NASCAR was founded in Over the years, the sport has experienced a number of changes, enhancing its speed, safety, and fun. Teams need to understand the history of NASCAR and all aspects of it especially the rules and how to build a better racecar. In this activity, you will test your knowledge to find some interesting artifacts.
