2 Belleville, Ontario Page 2 of CLOSEOUT SUBMITTALS.1 Provide operation and maintenance data for lighting fixtures including lamps for incorporation into manual..2 Submit manufacturer's installation instructions and special handling criteria, cleaning procedures and product data sheet in the manual. 1.5 QUALITY CONTROL.1 Provide quality control in accordance with Div-1 quality control procedures..2 Cross check with latest Architectural ceiling layout with the mounting of each lighting fixture. 2 PRODUCTS 2.1 LAMPS Fluorescent: 28W or 54 W. instant start T5 / T5 HO initial lumen 2600/4450 Lumens, mean lumen 2420/4140 Lumens, CRI 85, rated life 22,000 /60,000hrs..2 Compact Fluorescent: 42W Triple tube 3200 lumens 12,000 hours 32W Dulux L 2400 lumens 16,000 hours 26W Triple tube 1800 lumens 16,000 hours.3 Provide and install lamps in all fixtures in the project..4 Install fluorescent lamps with the same Watt rating as called for in the luminaire schedule..5 Incandescent "AU lamps shall be rated 130V, 2500 hour extended service..6 Compact fluorescent lamps (PL) shall be 4-pin single ended fluorescent source. The colour temperature of the lamp shall be 3000 degree Kelvin and CRI 82 unless otherwise noted in the fixture schedule. Lamps with Watt ratings up to 14W shall have a minimum efficacy of 45 initial Lumens/Watt. Lamps with Watt ratings between 15-40W shall have a minimum efficacy of 60 initial Lumens/Watt.

3 Belleville, Ontario Page 3 of 6.7 The color temperature of linear fluorescent lamps shall be 3000 degree Kelvin and CRI 85 unless otherwise noted in fixture schedule..8 Dimensions and Electrical characteristics shall meet the requirements of CSA Specification C10..9 All screw-in or GU-24 base compact fluorescent lamps shall be ENERGY STAR qualified. 2.2 SOCKETS.1 Sockets for incandescent fixtures shall be standard medium base..2 Sockets for fluorescent fixtures shall be standard medium bi-pin unless otherwise noted..3 Sockets for compact fluorescent shall be 4-pin unless otherwise noted..4 Install new lamps in all lampholders in the area of the Work. 2.3 BALLASTS.5 Acceptable Products from manufacturers:.1 Canadian General Electric,.2 Osram Sylvania or.3 Philips..1 HID Ballasts: constant wattage, 0.95 power factor, non-pcb capacitor, for grounded lampholder, regulated output to maintain rated lamp operation for +/- 10% rated voltage. Indoor type suitable for +10 to +40 C..2 All ballasts shall be supplied with a rated voltage matching the supply voltage indicated on the drawings. Ballast output current and voltage shall match the current and voltage ratings of the lamp or lamps they are designed to operate. All ballasts shall have power factor correction to 90% or more. Ballasts to be built to CSA Standard C22.2 No Fluorescent ballasts shall be electronic, CSA listed Class P, instant start thermally protected. Total Harmonic Distortion shall not exceed 10%; sound

4 Belleville, Ontario Page 4 of 6 rating "A..4 Compact fluorescent ballasts shall be high power factor, thermally protected and encapsulated for quiet operation..5 H.I.D. ballasts for all interior fixtures shall be electronic, high power factor, thermally protected and encapsulated for quiet operation..6 All ballasts/led drivers on exterior fixtures shall be electronic and rated to - 40ºC..7 All fluorescent shall have UV shielding for fluorescent lamps..8 Fluorescent Ballasts: electronic instant start. Acceptable Products from manufacturers:.1 GE.2 Osram/Sylvania.3 Philips.4 Advance.5 Magnatek 2.4 LUMINAIRE CONSTRUCTION AND FINISH.1 Fabricate steel fixtures from minimum 20 gauge sheet steel or as indicated. Provide knockouts each end and on top. Prepare for paint in accordance with specifications..2 Baked enamel finishes:.1 Conditioning of metal before painting:.1 For corrosion resistance conversion coating to CGSB 31-GP-103Ma..2 For paint base, conversion coating to CGSB 31-GP- 105Ma, CGSB 31-GP-106M..2 Metal surfaces of luminaire housing finished with high gloss baked enamel polyester powdercoat to give smooth, uniform appearance, free from pinholes or defects..3 Inside painted surfaces finished as follows:.1 White reflector and other surfaces, minimum reflection factor 85%..2 Colour fastness: yellowness factor not above 0.02 and after 250 h exposure in Atlas fade-ometer not to exceed Film thickness, not less than [0.03] mm average and in no

Provide adequate heat sink to operate within manufacturers tolerances.3 Screw base lampholders shall be nickel or brass..4 Flange or gasket fixtures to eliminate light leaks..5 Fixtures shall suit ceiling in which they are to be installed. Where necessary provide plaster frame. 2.7 LIGHTING FIXTURE SCHEDULE AND MANUFACTURERS Refer to drawings.

6 Belleville, Ontario Page 6 of 6 3 EXECUTION 3.1 INSTALLATION.1 Locate and install luminaires as indicated. 3.2 WIRING.1 Connect luminaires to lighting circuits using:.1 AC type armoured cable from luminaires to Junction Box in ceiling space. 3.3 LUMINAIRE SUPPORTS.1 For suspended ceiling installations, support luminaries from structure with chain or aircraft cables or as advised by the manufacturer. 3.4 LUMINAIRE ALIGNMENT.1 Align luminaires mounted in continuous rows to form a straight uninterrupted line..2 Align luminaires mounted individually in line and parallel or perpendicular to building grid lines.
