1 Registering for Patient Services Patient Services is the name of the online service your GP practice is using. It allows you to book appointments, request prescriptions and view parts of your medical record. Before you can use the online services offered by your GP practice you must: Collect your registration letter - Request and collect a registration letter from your GP practice Register Online - This creates your user profile on the website so that you can login, see How to Register Online Activate your Patient Services account (Two Step Only) - This links your user details to your Practice and verifies the address you are using Note - Ensure you have your online services registration letter from your GP before starting this process. To register as a new Patient Services user: 1. From your internet browser, go to 2. From the Patient Services Welcome screen, click Register. 3. Enter the Practice ID from your letter. Note - There are two different methods of registering to use the online patient services your surgery has enabled, which you are offered depends on the version of software your surgery is running. If the screen requests the Account ID and Linkage Key, see the Single Step Registration Process (page 1) If the screen requests the Patient ID and Registration Token, see the Two Step Registration Process (page 3) Registering for Patient Services 1
2 Single Step Registration Process Note - Ensure you have your online services registration letter from your GP before starting this process. To continue to register as a new Patient Services user and access the website: 1. Enter both the Account ID and Linkage Key from the National Registration section of the registration letter in the areas indicated. Excerpt from Registration letter 2. Now complete the Account Details section as follows: Username - Create a unique user name (min 3 characters) - This is the name you will use for logging into Patient Services. Note - The only symbols allowed here are dots and dashes, so you cannot currently use your address. Password - Type a new password, this must be a minimum of 8 characters containing at least one character from three of the following four character types: Uppercase letter Lowercase letter A number A symbol. Confirm Password - Retype your to confirm. 3. Complete the Account Recovery Details screen with the following details: First Name Last Name - Enter your address (this should be the address recorded at your GP Practice). Confirm - Retype your to confirm. Important - When registering to use Patient Services, we advise against using a shared address as confirmation of appointments and prescriptions ordered are sent to the address supplied. Users are unable to change their username. Date Of Birth 4. Read the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, and tick the box to confirm acceptance of these conditions. 2 Vision 3
3 5. Click Register to create your Patient Services Account. 6. The verification message is displayed. 7. Close the Patient Services screen and log into the account for the address you have entered. 8. Locate the Patient Services verification and click on the link. You are now registered for Patient Services, can log in and use all the online services your GP surgery has enabled. Registering for Patient Services 3
4 Two Step Registration Process To continue to register as a new Patient Services user: Step One Important - Ensure you have your online services registration letter from your GP before starting this process. Your practice may have set a time limit for Patient Services accounts to be linked. If you do not link your account before this period expires, you have to re-register and contact your practice to obtain a new Registration Letter. 1. Enter both the Patient ID and Registration Token from the registration letter in the areas indicated. Excerpt from Registration letter 2. Click Register to create your Patient Services Account. 6. When prompted, check your s and click on the link within the confirmation . You are taken to the Verification screen. You can now login to the website, but your account must be linked to your Practice before you can use their services. Step Two To activate your account and complete the registration process: 1. Check your account for the Patient Services activation , either make a note of the Confirmation Code or highlight and copy it. 2. Go to the Patient services web site, and click Login. Patient Services - Login 3. Enter your newly set up Username and Password then click Log in. 4. Enter the Confirmation Code, as it appears in the , or simply copy and paste it and then click Confirm. 5. Your account is now fully activated. You are now presented with the Patient Services Welcome page and can now use the services made available to you by your GP practice, eg request your prescription, book appointments etc. Note - If you have any problems with the clinical aspect of your Patient Services account, please contact your practice.
