1 HPC LASER LTD NEWLY DRAW MANUAL Install Newlydraw Disc Run Set up File At the first screen click on bottom left button This will then install the program onto your computer Install the software key (looks like a USB stick) Click on Newlydraw Desktop Icon

2 To import a file Click File then import Import compatible format file DXF JPEG TIFF EMF PLT GIF PNG BMP LUMF ICO Note: Some versions of Illustrator are not compatible and may have to be converted to a different version. Then click Open

3 When the file is imported the size can be checked At the top left and can be adjusted here. With the Pick Tool Pick tool You can select to cut or scan (engrave) the file or use the split function To break apart and do both

4 SCAN Scan tool With this selection the machine will engrave the work piece. It moves left to right or up and down, as would a printer. Also known as a raster file. In the scan function you can change the fill MODE button. This is directly to the right of the scan button MODE 1: This will infill the object to be engraved, giving a solid fill * Except for any items within the selected engraved area. This is ideal for stamp making where material is removed and only lettering remains* MODE 2: Total fill of object

5 To the right of this there is a button common line scan This is the common line width so you can change the engraving line width to suit. Above this button is the line width value this will allow you to change the thickness to a specified width (mm)

6 CUT Cut tool The CUT mode is shows with a red line, this is where the machine follows the line and Cuts also knows as a vector file. There is no option to change the line width, however, there is a useful option called Corner shape

7 How to send your file to the machine 1. Click Edit then Select all 2. Click on File then Engrave This brings up a new window Here we now need to set up the machine to suit your individual machine. In the top right you must ensure that model box is selected with the suffix u Eg:- JSM 40V / 3040U / 3060U To the right of the model box now click on properties. This will open a new window The options are:-

8 GENERAL This box is where you select the cut and scan (engrave) Speeds and powers (except on LS3020 where the power adjustments is done on the machine. CUT Speed adjust from speeds max to suit material Power is the percentage from Do not Adjust any other parameters in this box

9 SCAN(engrave) Here we can adjust the engraving speed. This should be between 50 and 200. If you set it higher it will work but could damage the belt. POWER This setting is again a percentage from 0 100% (higher power = deeper engraving) GAP This is the distance between the engraving lines. It is generally set at 0/075, however, To speed up the engraving increase it (e.g. 0.1) or to improve the quality on small Letters decrease the value e.g DIRECTION Here we can improve the quality by changing to single direction (SDR) However, the engraving will take twice as long

10 UP DOWN This is the engrave direction LEFT RIGHT This is the working direction of the machine Generally the above do not need changing. There are other values which should not generally need adjusting,. But these can be changed to suit the user. ADVANCED These are backlash and movement settings and should NOT be adjusted

11 DEVICE This is where we set the machine bed size Set the engravable width and height to your machine i.e.:- LS W 220H LS W 300H LS W 300H HDPI Set at 1016 VDPI Set at 1016 (but can be adjusted for accuracy) AXIS These buttons in the lower left hand corner should be selected to suit your use and so the x and y buttons correspond with the step keys on the engrave window.

12 AXIS - Continued No other values should be changed. Click OK this will close the window. Back to the engrave window. You will see the outline area of your work piece on the bed. First use the RESET X,Y button This will send the machine to its datum. Next set up the X and Y position for your work piece. i.e.:- x = 50 y = 50. then click TO X Y box the machine will move to the point you have selected. The DRAW FRAME button this will make the machine travel around the perimeter of the work piece (with the lid up the laser will not fire) With the lid down it will mark the perimeter (enabling you to locate the work piece). STEP Step keys can move the laser head to your desired position with these, the amount they move can be adjusted in the dimension box above.

13 When you are ready click START ENGRAVE button, the machine will not work. There are other options on this page if you are doing multiples. Rotating your work Options to save your chosen x and y positions. We hope you enjoy the machine! HPC LASER LTD
