1 FAQ S - INDIGO CADET PILOT PROGRAM CTC AVIATION WHAT IS THE INDIGO CADET PILOT PROGRAM? A. The IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programs have been established to cater to our growing pilot needs. We invite young men and women who have passed their 12 th or graduated from college and aspire to be airline pilots. It involves training the candidate in 2 phases so that she/he can act as a Jr. Co-pilot with IndiGo. B. The first phase is to provide the required training to obtain an Indian Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Multi Engine (ME) and Instrument Rating (IR), followed by the second phase which is Type Rating training for qualifying on the Airbus A320. C. In our partnership with CTC Aviation, the initial CPL phase of training will be conducted at CTC Aviation, Hamilton, New Zealand and the conversion from NZ license to Indian CPL will be done at GMR Hyderabad/or any other training centre approved by IndiGo. 1. WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA TO APPLY TO THE PROGRAM? Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the IndiGo program: a. Aged between 17 and 30 years old and of Indian nationality or holding an OCI card. b. Achieved a minimum score of 55% each in Physics, Mathematics & English in (10+2) exam* c. Possess a valid Indian Class I medical certificate** (No Limitations) d. Be in good physical condition with appropriate weight and height; e. Be fluent in English - both written and verbal f. Have "Unique-I.D." number/ registration number (U-I.D.) at the time of admission * If an applicant has graduated with Physics and Maths or Engineering with a mark of 55 % or more, the eligibility criterion of 12th with 55% except in English can be overlooked. **Candidates not possessing an Indian Class 1 medical can apply for the IndiGo program with a Class II medical, however they must possess an Indian Class 1 medical prior to commencing the program. Note: Applicants will be required to provide copies or proof of all documentation, certificates/mark sheets at Interview stage. 2. WHO WILL MAKE MY TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS? CTC Aviation will make travel arrangements (for the 1 st Phase of Training up to CPL level); the cost is included in the total price. 01 x return ticket from India New Zealand - India 3. WHO WILL PAY FOR MY MEDICAL INSURANCE DURING TRAINING? The candidate is responsible for bearing the cost of personal medical insurance during his/her training. Cost varies from NZD$ for 12 months. 4. WHERE WILL I STAY DURING TRAINING AND WHO WILL ARRANGE IT? a. CTC Aviation, New Zealand will make arrangements for your stay during the CPL phase. The cost is included in the total fee.

2 b. Full board accommodation will be arranged by CTC Aviation for your flight license conversion phase in India. Cost is included in the total fee. c. Bed and Breakfast stay will be arranged by CTC Aviation during the advanced Type Rating phase. Cost is included in the total fee. 5. WHO WILL ARRANGE FOR MY VISA FOR TRAINING? a. CTC Aviation will facilitate the Visa process for you for training in New Zealand but you will be responsible to obtain your own visa at your cost & other necessary travel related documents in relation to the training. Note: The cadet must present a statement showing an INR equivalent of NZD15000 bank balance at the time of applying for the Visa. b. A320 type rating is conducted in the UK, and CTC Aviation will facilitate the Visa process. 6. HOW LONG IS THE PROGRAM? The duration of the CPL training is planned at 19 months including conversion to the Indian CPL and the Airbus A320 type rating is planned at an additional 2 months. However, DGCA licensing, scheduling, and any other delays will extend the duration of the cadet program by an estimated 2 to 3 months. 7. WILL UNIFORMS BE PROVIDED? Yes, uniforms will be provided. 8. WHO WILL MEET ME ON ARRIVAL AT NEW ZEALAND? CTC Student Counsellor and or Customer Services rep will coordinate arrival schedule and transportation. 9. AM I PAID ANYTHING DURING THE TRAINING PERIOD? Yes. Following selection for the program, the candidate will be offered a conditional Letter of Intent ( LOI ) by IndiGo. Thereafter he/she will enter into an Agreement with IndiGo as a Cadet Pilot and he/she will be entitled to a monthly stipend as applicable; on obtaining a CPL issued by DGCA India, the Cadet Pilot will be paid an enhanced monthly stipend. 10. WHERE WILL I BE TRAINED FOR A320 TYPE RATING? The A320 Type Rating training will be conducted at a CTC Aviation type rating training centre approved by IndiGo. Currently the plan is to conduct this training in Southampton, UK. 11. HOW MUCH IS THE SELECTION FEE? There are no selection fees as of now. 12. IS THERE ANY PAPERWORK THAT I NEED TO SIGN WITH INDIGO? At the time of signing the Cadet Pilot Agreement, the candidate is required to sign a Specialised Training Agreement whereby the candidate commits to serve IndiGo for a specified term, post successful completion of his/her training (both CPL & Type Rating).

3 13. WHAT IS THE TOTAL COST OF THE PROGRAM? The total cost for this program is INR 61, 58,577/- including taxes for the CPL part of the training. DGCA and other CPL exam fees, accommodation, transportation, and selection exam fees are included. CTC Aviation launched its first ab initio programmes in 2003, but has been selecting and training experienced and newly qualified airline pilots since Each year they train and recruit over 3,000 airline pilots for approximately 50 of the world s leading airlines. Those trainees selected to join the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme will complete their training at the Crew Training Centre Hamilton which is located on the North Island of New Zealand. Here you will enjoy the experience of exploring one of the world s most stunning scenic landscapes and mixing with your fellow trainees on airline-programmes from around the world including British Airways, JetStar, Qatar Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Oman Air, EasyJet, and Royal Brunei, thus benefitting from a wide mix of cultural experiences. 15. Is there an advantage for me to train in a foreign institute like CTC Aviation? a. Trainee pilot gets a dual license Uniquely, as part of the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme with CTC Aviation you will graduate with a dual New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Multi Engine Commercial Pilot Licence and Instrument Rating (ME CPL/IR) b. International Training Exposure Cadets will begin their training experience in New Zealand. Post successful completion of this training you will be eligible for a NZ CAA CPL which would later be converted into a DGCA CPL. The program is designed to provide cadets with international exposure both professionally and culturally so as to expand your horizons and imbibe the best of diverse viewpoints and practices. Train in the World of Cadet Pilots :- CTC Aviation trains pilots for various airlines such as British Airways, JetStar, Qatar Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Jet Airways, EasyJet, FlyDubai, Royal Brunei etc. Cadets trained at CTC Aviation get the opportunity to mix and mingle with their contemporaries training for various airlines

4 from all over the world as well as qualified airline pilots who take up advanced training with CTC Aviation. e. Round The Year Flying:- Not only is New Zealand a beautiful location, particularly for aviators, it also benefits from year round flying conditions making the training schedule quicker and more predictable. f. Hassle free Selection Process :- CTC Aviation deeply focuses on selecting the right kind of candidates for training expeditiously, in a hassle free manner. g. UPRT - Upset Prevention and Recovery Training CTC Aviation has proactively included mandatory UPRT (Upset Prevention and Recovery Training) as a standard part of the syllabi for our airline pilot career programs. This innovative 7-hour package includes 3 hours of training in a Slingsby T67 aerobatic aircraft and 4 hours of training in one of CTC s Boeing or Airbus level D full-flight simulators to enable transfer of these core skills into an operational airline environment. h. Training Course :- Trainees will be trained on dually approved syllabi. Initially you will undergo training as per the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority (NZCAA) syllabus and the later phases will include Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) recommended parts of the syllabus to help in the license conversion process. i. 1 x Return Ticket :- CTC Aviation will cover the cost of 1 return ticket per cadet (India New Zealand India) for the purpose of training with CTC Aviation. CTC Aviation will also assist you in applying for visa or any other related document that may be required for the purpose of this travel. j. Uniform and equipment All the necessary uniform and equipment required for you to complete your training will be provided by CTC Aviation at no extra cost. k. Training at Global Standards DELIVERED!! 5 16. How many hours will I train on an actual aircraft? a. For ME/IR CPL - Students will fly minimum hours in an actual aircraft. b. For Foreign License Conversion Students will fly approx. 20 hours in an actual aircraft in a DGCA approved Flight Training Academy. 17. What aircraft will I be training on? Cadets will fly Cessna 172, DA 20 (single engine) and DA42 (multi-engine) aircraft. The latter two aircraft are equipped with modern glass cockpits and the latest avionics. 18. What is the weather like in New Zealand? New Zealand is famous for experiencing all four seasons in one day! Whilst the far north has subtropical weather during summer, inland alpine areas of the South Island can be as cold as - 10 C (14 F) in winter. Most of the country lies close to the coast, which means mild temperatures. The average New Zealand temperature decreases as you travel south. January and February are the warmest months, and July is the coldest month of the year. In summer, the average maximum temperature ranges between 20-30ºC (70-90 F) and in winter between 10-15ºC (50-60 F). Hamilton, where CTC Aviation s Crew Training Centre is located, is on the North Island of New Zealand. Hamilton has a highly moderated climate featuring warm summers (some of the hottest in New Zealand), cool winters and about 1,184 mm (46.6 in) of rainfall annually. Daily maximum temperatures range from about 22 to 26C (72 79F) in January and February to 10 to 15C (50 59F) in July and August. Summer occasionally sees temperatures of more than 28 C (82 F), while on clear winter mornings temperatures may drop to as low as 4 C (25 F). Ground frosts are common and snow is possible but rare. Typically summers are warm and dry and winters cool and wet. On average, Hamilton sees around 2,000 hours of sunshine each year.
