1 Why Postcards are the surest way to build a Huge MLM Income! By Art Rayburn The MLM or Network Marketing industry has evolved since the early years. When I first got involved with MLM, the only way I was taught to build my business was to make a list of all my family and friends or set up a booth in some sort of trade show. As you can imagine, my family and friends hated to see me coming and I my checkbook hated to see the next upcoming trade show. And of course I lost money! Then I discovered a new way of doing MLM or at least it was new 12 years ago or so. MLM and home business magazines were brand new at that time and I was one of the first Network Marketers to start advertising my MLM opportunity in these resources. There were also brand new lead generating companies such as Ad-Net. Do you remember Ad-Net? I utilized these magazines and lead generating companies to build a huge MLM downline in excess of 12,000 members! Then the MLM Company I represented filed bankruptcy. I left the MLM industry for about 7 years and the industry evolved even more during that time. There were hundreds of heavy hitters during that time who made millions by simply ing their way to wealth. They would simply set up a web site send out millions of spam and have hundreds, if not thousands of new distributors join their opportunity! When I rejoined the MLM industry in 2006, I found out the hard way that the days of ing your way to MLM riches was over. I also discovered that many of those MLM heavy hitters who built their downline through had now lost their downlines! The spam police and filtering software had brought an abrupt end to building an MLM business through Spam! But that s okay with me, because I hate Spam, just as most other people do. 1

2 So the MLM industry has evolved once again and has almost come full circle. Now it didn t go all the way back around to hitting up your friends and family. (It is possible to build an MLM business without losing your friends and family.) But it has come back to direct mail! And I love it! This is where postcards work so beautifully! With direct mail Network Marketing, your main goal is to get as many people as possible to take a more in-depth look at your MLM opportunity and some of them will join your downline! MLM success really is as simple as getting enough people to take a look at your MLM opportunity! And this can easily and inexpensively be achieved with postcards! Your first business building effort is turn a general prospect into a qualified prospect. A general prospect is someone who reads an MLM magazine or has requested to receive further home business information and their name and address is added to a Leads List. A qualified prospect is someone who responds to an advertisement in that magazine or responds to the initial piece of marketing material (postcard) they receive in the mail box. Here s why postcards are the best marketing material for the ordinary MLMer. Some MLMers can place ads in Network Marketing magazines with great success. Matter of fact, I consistently used this marketing tool. The only problem is that it s not duplicatable. You might be able to place ads on a monthly basis but most of your downline members will not. If this is your only marketing tool, the growth of your MLM downline will be stunted. Mailing out a complete information pack to an entire Leads List is too expensive. Maybe you can afford to mail a $5.00 information pack to 2

3 250 monthly prospects per month but your downline can t. So once again, you MLM downline growth is stunted. But you and everyone in your downline (if they re serious about building a solid 6-figure income) can afford to mail a postcard to 250 leads per month! And then when that general prospect requests further information, they become a qualified prospect and you send them your complete information pack. Now that s easy to duplicate! That empowers your MLM downline! That helps you create true MLM Wealth! Network Marketing is a numbers business and a relationship business. First you need to get your advertisement (postcard) in front of as many home business enthusiasts as possible. Next, you spend time building a relationship with those who respond to your postcard. And some, not all, but some of those qualified prospects will join you in your MLM downline! Keep up this monthly effort for 1 3 years and you will have created great MLM wealth.
