4 HISTORICAL NOTE Administrative Information Systems (AIS) was established in Its name changed to Enterprise Solutions Group in 2000 and to University Information Systems (UIS) in The mission of AIS is to develop, enhance, maintain, and protect the academic, research, and administrative information resources of the university. The present-day UIS is a division of Information Technology Services. SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE This record group consists of notebooks generated during the initial design process of LSU s administrative computer system. Notebooks include descriptions of both internal and external design for departments such as the Office of Admissions, the Department of Residential Life, the Office of the University Registrar, and the LSU Foundation. Other notebooks include system designs to evaluate transfer credit, degree audits, and budget and payroll. Also included are copies of the System Network Computing Center s newsletter.
