1 MSN Nursing ( ) Program Information Point of Contact Dr. Denise Landry Support for University and College Missions Marshall University is a multi-campus public university providing innovative undergraduate and graduate education that contributes to the development of society and the individual. The University actively facilitates learning through the preservation, discovery, synthesis, and dissemination of knowledge. University Mission Programs must state their Program Mission and specify how this mission supports both the University's Mission as well as any Mission that the College the Program is housed under happens to have. College Mission The College of Health Profession's mission is to prepare students and health care professionals to function as highly competent, collaborative, and socially responsible health care professionals in a dynamic health care environment. To fulfill this mission our outstanding faculty provide student-centered education and clinical educational experiences, promote and provide support for continued professional development of practicing health care professionals, conduct research that relates to critical health care issues and populations, and provide services throughout the tri-state region and rural communities of southern West Virginia. Program Mission To provide quality, innovative education to improve the health and well-being of the individual, family, and society. Support for College Mission By providing advanced practice nursing students with the knowledge and skill to successfully sit for appropriate certification exams and enter advanced practice nursing as nurse educators, nurse administrators, family nurse practioners, nurse midwives or psychiatric-mental health nurse practioners upon graduation, the School of Nursing supports the College's mission of preparing students to function as highly competent, collaborative, and socially responsible health care professionals. Support for University Mission The School of Nursing supports the University Mission by 1. Maintaining rigorous professional education standards through the high expectation of student learning and performance. 2. Encouraging involvement of faculty in service to society and the profession. 3. Supporting the engagement of faculty and students in research, practice, and other scholarly endeavors. 4. Providing an environment that is sensitive to a culturally and ethnically diverse student body, faculty, and staff. 5.
