1 About the Product The s (CWDM) come as stand-alone modules and as 9 rack-mount assemblies, designed to multiplex (mux) or de-multiplex (demux) optical signals in CWDM systems with multiple channels at an ITU standards defined spacing of 20 nm. The CWDM features low insertion loss, high isolation and excellent environmental stability. The ITU-T G standard compliant optical wavelength channels available are 27 nm to 6 nm at 20 nm spacing. Previously known as 270 nm to 60 nm until the relevant ITU standards had redefined the wavelengths to cater for laser temperature issues. A special range of CWDM units have been developed for RFOG (Radio Frequency over Glass) applications, permitting DOCSIS and HFC to operate over a EPON/GPON compliant Passive Optical Network (PON) as commonly deployed for Fibre to the Home (FTTH) developments. 2 Features Cost-effective solution for multi-wavelength systems. Excellent wavelength stability. High isolation. Low insertion loss. Epoxy-free optical path. SC/APC, LC/APC, FC/APC and E2000/APC connectors available. Optional 3 nm port for forward path transmission to HFC nodes. Either single port or with internal splitter to match number of CWDM ports for feeding multiple HFC nodes over one fibre. Options for assembly into 9 sub-racks, ready for deployment. The actual pass band on the filters is a nominal 0 nm and to minimise problems at the pass band edges, the pass-through bandwidth has an extra 0.5 nm on either side. Hence the pass band on the filter is specified as centre wavelength +/- 5.5 nm in a 20 nm grid. Copyright 20 Pacific Broadband Networks (PBN). All rights reserved.
