2 Join up to 200 adventurers and take on this unique Ultra Challenge - trekking 2 marathons in 2 days with wilderness camping under midnight sun. Stunning landscape along the Laugavegurinn Trail with varied terrain and a real sense of achievement as we cross the finish line and celebrate in Reykjavik. You'll encounter mountains of every colour, glaciers, roaring hot springs, and river crossings to navigate that will test stamina & adaptability. Most people will trek the marathon distance each day, some may try to jog it. You'll be fully supported by our team, from organising flights & travel logistics, supporting you on the trek, to providing hospitality at the campsites. 3 THE ITINERARY The challenge starts in Reykjavik with a 90 minute transfer east to the start line. We'll enjoy dinner here before camping under the midnight sun. Starting next morning full of excitement, we'll begin our trek and follow the route south. 52 miles later we'll cross the finish line at Thórsmörk. Day 1 - Fri 22 July Depart London on group flights and arrive Reykjavik or meet at airport (if own flights). Coach transfer to South Iceland where we camp in Afangagil. A challenge briefing, dinner and an early night! Day 2 - Sat 23 July 0-26 miles Leg 1 - Afangagil to Landmannahellir ~9 miles - Setting off early this morning, the group will begin trekking through incredible lunar landscapes before reaching the first rest stop to refuel. Leg 2 - Landmannahellir to Landmannalaugar ~10 miles - Continuing south we pass the green mossed and multicoloured mountains of Landmannalaugar where we will enjoy lunch and another rest. Leg 3 - Landmannalaugar to Hrafntinnusker ~ 7 miles - This leg takes us on the most challenging part of the trek with a 600-meter ascent, surrounded by stunning icy mountains, until we reach the campsite. We'll enjoy a well deserved meal and have time to relax before getting an early night! Day 3 - Sun 24 July miles trek Leg 4 - Hrafntinnusker to Lake Alftavatn ~8 miles - Starting the day at 8am, we begin our trek with a 400-meter descent over 8 miles until we reach a beautiful lake with stunning views. Here we'll find our next rest stop with snacks and drinks. Leg 5 - Lake Alftavatn to Emstrur ~9 miles - Contuining our trek from the lake, we'll walk through desert landscapes and pass by the thundering waterfall at Emstrur before arriving at a tiny mountain cabin. This will be our fifith and final rest stop before the last push to the finish line! Leg 6 - Emstrur to Thorsmork ~9 miles - Trekking through hot spring country, we take on the last 9 miles of the trek through lush Thorsmork Valley where we'll also have to find our way across a couple of rivers! Cross the finish line and celebrate our fantastic achievement with a glass of fizz and a medal. In the early evening we'll take a group transfer to Reykjavik where we'll have a celebratory dinner and party before staying at a hotel. Day 4 - Mon 25 July Return to UK - Breakfast in hotel & a few hours to explore Reykjavik before a transfer to airport for group flights to London. Extension package - whale watching & city tour - after breakfast we set off for a once in a lifetime whale watching boat trip, followed by lunch and a city tour around Reykjavik. Dinner is taken at a local restaurant, hotel night stay. Extension - Day 5 - Tue 26 July Blue lagoon & afternoon departure - after breakfast we head out to the Blue Lagoon to relax in the thermal pools before an afternoon departure back to London. 3 info@theicelandchallenge.com

4 HOW TO SIGN UP TO THE CHALLENGE You can sign up by either paying for your place just like a holiday, or alternatively pay a registration fee and then fundraise for a charity of your choice. Self funding This option allows for you to pay for your Challenge in full, with an initial deposit when registering and then a final balance due 10 weeks prior to departure. Flights included 795 total cost per person 150 deposit on-line to secure your place 645 remaining balance due 10 weeks prior Flights depart London 22 July, returning 25 July Full details will be released closer to the event Inclusive of all taxes & surcharges Flights not included 495 total cost per person Pay 150 deposit on-line to secure your place 345 remaining balance due 10 weeks prior Book your own flights to and from Iceland You will need to meet in Rekjavik on 22 July for transfer to the start Charity fundraising Unlike many charity trips to Iceland - this is a real challenge - and you should be able to get sponsorship from friends & family for your endeavours! and smash the minimum targets! You pay an initial deposit when registering, and agree to raise a minimum sponsorship target for a charity of your choice. Optional extension 300 per person With both above options, you have the choice to extend your stay to explore Iceland.
