1 Govt. of NCT of Delhi Directorate of Information & Publicity Block-IX, Old Sectt., Delhi Sub: Filling up 02 posts of Sr. Information Officer on contract basis. Applications for engagement of 02 posts of Sr. Information Officer on contract basis are hereby invited from suitable candidates, initially for a period of six months, which may be further extended depending on requirement and performance, on monthly consolidated salary based on minimum of pay scale of Rs in PB-III with Grade Pay of Rs.6600/- + applicable DA at the time of appointment, which approximately comes to Rs.49000/-. Essential Qualifications i) Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with English and Hindi/Urdu as a compulsory/optional subject; ii) iii) 07 years Journalist experience in a responsible capacity in a Newspaper/News agency of standing or equivalent of experience of publicity and public relations work in a Government Department or a Commercial Publicity Organization. Familiarity with the requirement of various publicity media. Desirable:- equivalent. Degree/Diploma in Journalism of a recognized University/Institution or Age Limit :- Maximum age limit 40 years as on (Relaxable for Government Servants by 5 years in accordance with the instruction issued by the Central Government.) Job Profile :- 1. Supervision of the work of Asstt. Information Officers/Information Officers/Field Publicity Officer.

2 2. To collate and cross check the Press Releases, Press Notes etc. prepared by the Asstt. Information Officers, Information Officers before issue to the press for publication. 3. Editing of the monthly journal Dilli published by the Directorate of Information and Publicity. 4. Production of Publicity Literature, folders and pamphlets in English, Hindi, Urdu & Punjabi languages. 5. Issue of Press-Notes/Press Releases/Handouts in English, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi languages. 6. Liaison with writers and journalists. 7. News Analysis. 8. Preparation of scripts relating to activities of Govt. of NCT of Delhi in English, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi languages. 9. To look after display advertisements issued by the Delhi Govt. on occasions of national importance i.e. Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti, Bal Divas etc. 10. Outdoor Field Publicity of Delhi Govt. Departments, i.e. hoardings on major roads, bus shelters etc. 11. Publication of routine advertisements of various Delhi Governments i.e. tender notices, public notices, vacancies advertisements etc. 12. Publication of posters, banners, handouts etc for various Delhi Govt. Departments. 13. Organization of various events, functions etc. on behalf of various Delhi Govt. Departments. Terms & Conditions of the appointment will be as under:- 1. The appointment to the post of Sr. Information Officer will be on contract basis for a period of six months or till the post is filled up on regular basis through UPSC whichever is earlier. 2. The appointee will be paid at the minimum of the Pay Band + Grade Pay associated with the post + existing rate of DA i.e. in the Pay Band-III of Grade Pay of Rs.6600/- at the time of appointment.

3 3. The appointee shall not be entitled to any benefit of Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical attendance and treatment or any other benefit available to Govt. Servants, appointed on regular basis. 4. The appointee will not be entitled to Govt./residential accommodation or HRA in lieu thereof. 5. Leave: The leave entitlement of the appointee shall be governed as per DOPT O.M. No /3/84-Estt.(L) dated 12 th April, 1985 and O.M. No /1/96-Estt.(L) dated 5 th July, The appointment can be terminated by the Govt. by giving one month notice or one month salary, without assigning any reason. 7. In case the appointee wish to leave the assignment he will have to give one month notice or has to deposited one month salary. 8. This appointment will not confer on the appointee any right or claim for regular appointment to the post and an undertaking will have to be furnished that no court cases will be filed during or after convey of the contract period for seeking any regular appointment. 9. The candidate should not have been convicted in any court of law. 10. The payment of remuneration will be directly linked to performance of official duties and work actually performed and no remuneration shall be payable during the vacation period. 11. The appointee shall assist the office in any assignment given by the Senior Officers. 12. The appointment shall be as a whole time appointment of the Institution and shall not accept any other appointment, paid or otherwise and shall not engage himself / herself in private practice of any kind during the period of contract. 13. The appointment to the said post will be subject to physical fitness from the competent medical board for which he will be sent to designate medical Authority by the Institution before joining the post. 14. Other conditions of service will be governed by relevant rules and orders issued from time to time in this regard. 15. If any declaration/information furnished is found false or if any material/facts conceals willfully, the contractual engagement will be terminated forthwith. 16. All the disputes will be dealt in the legal jurisdiction of Delhi only.

4 17. DIP will not hold any responsibility of incident/accident occurred to him/her during contractual engagement. Applications duly filled in the prescribed format, should reach the Dy. Director (Admn.), Dte. of Information & Publicity, Block-IX, Old Sectt., Delhi latest by 31 st march Candidates may note that the appointment will, under no circumstances confer any right on the candidates for regular appointment in DIP. Candidates will be required to produce all certificates/testimonials in original at the time of interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Applications for engagement of 04 posts of Information Officer on contract basis are hereby invited from suitable candidates, initially for a period of six months, which may be further extended depending on requirement and performance, on monthly consolidated salary based on minimum of pay scale of Rs /- with Grade Pay of Rs.4600/- + applicable DA at the time of appointment, which approximately comes to Rs.31,000/-. Essential Qualifications (1) Degree/Post Graduate Degree of a recognized University with English or Hindi or Urdu as one of the subjects at Graduate/Post Graduation Degree level. (2) Degree/Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication from a recognized university/institution or equivalent. (3) Three years journalistic experience in a responsible capacity in a Newspaper/News agency of repute/standing or equivalent experience of publicity and public relations work in a Govt. Deptt. or a commercial publicity organization. (4) Familiarity with the requirement of various publicity media (5) Proficiency in computer operation, ability to work on MS Office, Internet etc. (6) (i) Candidates having Degree/Post Graduate Degree with English as a subject at

6 Degree level / Post Graduate Degree level must have working knowledge of Hindi. (ii) Candidates having Degree/Post Graduate Degree with Hindi as a subject at Degree level / Post Graduate Degree level must have working knowledge of English. (iii) Candidates having Degree/Post Graduate Degree with Urdu as a subject at Degree level / Post Graduate Degree level must have working knowledge of English. Age Limit :- Maximum age limit 35 years as on Job Profile :- 1. Issue of press notes, press release, handouts in English and Hindi languages with regard to various activities of different departments of Government of NCT of Delhi and releasing the same to print as well as electronic media for wide publicity. 2. Liaison with journalists, writers, representatives of print/electronic media in the interest of the Government. 3. Extending press facilities to the journalists/media persons on behalf of the Government as decided from time to time. 4. Arrangements of press conferences of various dignitaries/vips such as Hon ble Chief Minister, Hon ble Speaker of Delhi Assembly, Hon ble Ministers of Delhi Government, Chief Secretary, Chief Electoral Officer of Government of NCT of Delhi.
