The CZA was established in February, 1992 with the objectives to enforce minimum standards and norms for upkeep and health care of animals in Indian Zoos to provide them technical and other assistance for improvement and to restrain mushrooming of unplanned and ill-conceived Zoos that were cropping up as adjuncts to public parks, industrial complexes and waysides. 3 Eligible criteria for deputation including short term contract for the post of Evaluation and Monitoring Assistant Officers of the Central Government or State Government or Union territories or Public Sector Undertakings or Statutory or Autonomous Organisations, --- (a) (i) holding analogous post on regular basis; or (ii) with six years regular services in pay band 1: Rs plus grade pay of Rs. 2800/- ; or (ii) with eight years regular services in the pay band 1: Rs plus grade pay of 2400/- ; and Rs. (b)(i) possessing B.Sc. with Zoology or Wildlife as a subject from a recognized University. (ii) having three years experience in the field of zoo related activities in Zoos funded by the Central Government or State Government or in private Zoos recognised by the Central Zoo Authority or in Zoo or Wildlife related organisation recognised by the Central Government or State Government. (iii) Knowledge of Computer Application. Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/department of Central/State Government shall not ordinarily exceed five years for the post of the Deputy Inspector General and three years for the post of the Evaluation and Monitoring Assistant. 4. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short term contract) shall be not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of the receipt of applications.

4 5. The departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly deputationist shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion. 6. The deputation rules, regulations and provisions as issued from time to time by DoPT shall be applicable. 7.
