1 Maps and Software upgrade instructions Before you can upgrade your maps or software, you'll need to register as a new member at 1) Register as a new member at the upgrades web page Α) Copy the link to your browser (picture 1) Select English from the language bar Picture 1

2 Β) Click the "Members Area" button (picture 2) Picture 2 C) To begin your registration as a new member, select "Register" (picture 3) Picture 3

3 D) Fill in the registration form (picture 4) Picture 4 The fields with an asterisk (*) need to be filled in. In the field, you'll have to provide an already existing and valid address, which will be used for the activation of your registration. In the Password field, you'll have to specify a password of your preference, which will be used for signing in to the account you have created on our website. In the Repeat Password field, you'll have to enter again the password previously specified. In the Visual Confirmation field, you'll have to enter the characters, numbers and letters, in the order shown in the picture (e.g ) Under Software/Device, you'll have to enter the Destinator Licence Key, which can be found on the device user manual back cover. This key is a 25-digit number and needs to be entered in the Licence Key field. The Destinator Licence Key is required for the upgrade process and is unique for each user. In the Device and Device Version fields, you'll have to select your device model from the list. If your device is not included in the list, select "Other device". Complete your registration by clicking "Submit". Check your for an activation that will be automatically sent to you by the system.

4 Ε) Then, you'll need to sign in to your account (picture 5) Picture 5 Enter the address and the password you have selected in the previous step and click "Submit"

5 F) The "Device Upgrades" menu is displayed, as shown in picture 6 Picture 6 Under "Installation file", you can download the upgrade for your map. Under "Instructions", you can download the information required for the upgrade in.txt or.pdf format. Save the installation file to your computer and unzip it. Connect your device to your computer using the USB cable (see "Connect the device to a computer") and then run MlsDestinatorUpdater.exe in order to "Start" the upgrade process.

6 2) Connect the device to a computer Α) Install the required software In order for your device to be recognized by the computer, the following software must be installed on your computer: For Windows XP: Microsoft Active Sync. For your convenience, the relevant download link is: For Windows Vista and Windows 7: the Mobile Device Center. For your convenience, the relevant download link is: In order to connect your device to the computer, you'll have to follow the steps given below: 1. Connect the USB cable to both your device and computer. 2. Turn on your device by pressing the on/off button. Note: For devices with automatic opening of the navigation program, you can close it by clicking "Multimedia" as shown in the picture below: Picture 7 Β) Communication settings in the device In the Main Menu of the device, select "Settings\USB\" (pictures 8-9)

7 Picture 8 Picture 9 Finally, check the "MS ACTIVESYNC" option (picture 10) Picture 10 The synchronization program will recognize your device and you can now start the MlsDestinatorUpdater.exe for the upgrade process.

8 3) Create and maintain a backup Before proceeding with an upgrade, we highly recommend that you create and maintain a backup for the navigation program files on your computer. Α) Connect the device to a computer running Windows XP via ActiveSync 1) Connect the device to the computer with the USB cable; your device will be then detected by ActiveSync. In the "Create partnership" dialog box (picture 11), click Cancel and, in the subsequent dialog box, click ΟΚ (picture 12) Picture 11 Picture 12

9 2) Then, click "Explore" to display the device contents (picture 13). Picture 13 3) In case that the Destinator is installed in the internal memory of the device, copy the contents of the "Resident flash" folder (picture 14). In case that the program is installed in an external memory card, copy the contents of the "SDMMC/Storage card" folder (picture 15). Picture 14

10 Picture 15 4) Finally, paste the copied files to your computer desktop.

11 Β) Connect the device to a computer running Windows Vista or Windows 7 via the Mobile Device Center 1) Connect the device to the computer with the USB cable; your device will be then detected by the Mobile Device Center. From the Mobile Device Center's home page, select Connect without device setup (picture 16) Picture 16 2) In the subsequent dialog box, click Manage files (picture 17) and, more specifically, click Search your device contents (picture 18) Picture 17

12 Picture 18 3) In case that the Destinator is installed in the internal memory of the device, copy the contents of the "Resident flash" folder (picture 19). In case that the program is installed in an external memory card, copy the contents of the "SDMMC/Storage card" folder (picture 20) Picture 19

13 Picture 20 4) Finally, paste the copied files to your computer desktop.

14 4) Start the upgrade file After you have unzipped the file downloaded from our website, you'll find the MlsDestinatorUpdater.exe program, which you'll need to run for the installation process to begin. Α) For Windows XP, double-click the file; for Windows Vista or Windows 7, right-click on the file and, from the drop-down list, select "Run as administrator". The window shown in picture 21 below is then displayed. Β) Click "Start" for the upgrade process to begin (picture 21). Picture 21 You should now see the following window (picture 22) on your computer screen, indicating that the upgrade is in progress. Picture 22 C) When the upgrade process is completed, the dialog box shown in picture 23 is displayed; click OK on this box. Picture 23 The upgrade process has been completed and you may now disconnect your device from your computer.
