The top boy and girl in each division will advance to a sectional competition in July. (Copy of birth certificate will be needed from winners.) The Northern Colorado Shockers baseball team is hosting a baseball clinic helping players get ready for the upcoming baseball season. 2 Sports Youth Baseball Competitive Tryouts 36 Play Ball! Teams are forming for 2017 Competitive Baseball Teams. Open tryouts will be held for existing teams needing players and new teams. Players will be evaluated on baseball skills, athleticism and attitude. Teams will play in the Longmont Baseball League. If you can t make the tryout date call before the tryout dates to make other arrangements Failing to do so may forfeit your eligibility to play in the 2017 season. There is no charge to tryout. Windsor teams practice in Windsor but travel to F.C. for games. Participants are placed into divisions according to grade. Participants will learn football fundamentals with the exception of tackling or blocking (non-contact league). The main emphasis will be equal participation with winning being secondary. 3 TOUCHDOWN! 2015 CCMFL U10 Div 2 Champions! Head Coach Dean Grable The Tackle Football program is offered in conjunction with two different leagues, Fort Collins Recreation Department and Coal Creek Midget Football League (C.C.M.F.L.). See below for more information about both leagues. Fort Collins League This 8-man tackle football league is organized in conjunction with the Fort Collins Recreation Department. Windsor teams will practice in Windsor but travel to Fort Collins for all games. Participants are placed onto teams according to grade/weight. This league has an equal playing time rule. Games last about an hour. All head coaches are certified through USA Football and includes concussion training. Teams are scheduled for 6-8 games. Registration: Apr 3 Jul 30 or when teams are full. All Fort Collins league tackle participants must be present at the time of registration for weigh-in. Windsor teams practice in Windsor and have an equal mix of home and road games. Participants are placed into divisions according to age. A player s weight may prohibit them from playing certain positions. This league does not have an equal playing time requirement. The league follows 11- man NFHS rules with league specific additions or changes. Teams are scheduled for 6-8 games plus end of season playoff championship. All head and assistant coaches are certified through USA Football and include concussion training. Registration: Apr 3 Jul 1 or when teams are full (Can be done online!) Residency Requirement: players must live within Windsor Town limits or live within Weld RE-4 School District boundaries or attend a Weld RE-4 School. Each section listed below represents one team. The days and times listed will be the practice time for that team. If a coach cannot be found or a team does not fill it may be required to move players to a different team. Players will learn at their own pace. Match play will be held on Fridays for all age groups. Matches are played in Windsor, Berthoud, Longmont & Loveland. Match schedules will be made available during the second week of practices. A state wide tournament concludes the season in July. Participants must supply their own racquet. Learn the basic skills and fundamentals in various track and field events. Both individual and team events are held for any ability. Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:30pm. Meets will be held on Saturdays in June and July. Meet schedules will be given at the first practice. Parents must provide transportation to and from meets. Registration fee does include a t-shirt. 6 Sports Youth Challenger British Soccer Camp The Town of Windsor is bringing the nation s number one all British Soccer Camp program to your community this summer. Challenger British Soccer Camps are a huge nationwide organization who will coach 125,000 players around the US this summer on their camps and here is your chance to experience their unique program thanks to the efforts of The Town of Windsor. June 27 - July 1 OR July First Kicks 4 & 5 yrs 9-10:30am $105 Mini Soccer 3 yrs 11am-12pm $88 Half Day 6 14 yrs 9am-12pm $138 Golden Goal 6 14 yrs 1-3pm $55 The 'Golden Goal' is a fun packed add-on session that runs Monday Thursday and is only open to kids who register for the Half Day 9am noon session. Register on line at Register before May 13th and June 10th respectively to receive a FREE replica soccer jersey. $10 late fee applied to all registrations received after June 17th and July 15th respectively. Boys and Girls Intermediate Basketball 4th-8th grade ( school year) Coaches and Players Coaches and players are needed for the upcoming intermediate basketball season. Teams play in the 2016 Power-to-Play Sports Fall League. Games are played on Saturday s and Sundays. Practices start in September with games in October and November and a tournament in December. Teams are required to have 60% of its players reside in Windsor or in the Weld RE-4 School District boundaries. If there is enough interest to form new teams, or current teams need additional players, players will be called for tryouts on the below dates. Players need to register to be invited to the free tryout. Coaches interested in coaching an intermediate team will need to call (970) for details. Players interested in playing on team for the upcoming season and are not currently on a team, will need to register on a show-of-interest. If there is enough interest, by coaches and players, players will be invited to the fall tryout. 7 Coaches Certification Trainings NYSCA National Youth Sports Coaches Association NYSCA training teaches coaches their responsibilities and holds them accountable to a strict code of conduct. It is mandatory for youth coaches to come to one of the scheduled meetings during the year! Coaches must stay for the entire two hours. Reduced Fee Program The Windsor Parks, Recreation & Culture Reduced Fee Program is funded through generous donations from multiple sources including the Windsor Town Board and United Way of Weld County. Reduced fees are available for Town of Windsor residents meeting qualification guidelines including proof of income and household size taken from the most recent IRS tax form and proof of residency taken from a property tax certificate, Town of Windsor utility bill or rental agreement. Applications are available at the front desk of the Windsor Community Recreation Center, 250 N. 11th Street, online at: or by calling Uniforms: Uniforms are sold at the Windsor Community Recreation Center. Recreational uniforms may be exchanged or returned within 10 business days of purchase date if it has not been worn or washed and the tags are still attached. The PAYS program helps parents and youth leagues work together to provide the best possible sports experience for children. If you have previously attended the PAYS portion of the Parent Meeting, you do not need to attend this portion again. Concussion training starts at 6:45pm. This training educates parents about the signs and symptoms of concussions while emphasizing the seriousness of head injuries. If you have previously attended the concussion training you are not required to attend this portian again. The sport specific portion of the meeting starts at 7:30pm which covers season schedules, rules and more.
