3 Some feedback I really enjoy role play and hands on activities paired with didactic presentation (Year 3 Medical Student) The session was very beneficial to help improve confidence of ED practitioners when dealing with a pregnant critically ill patient (ED Educator) The use of the mannequins was imperative in understanding and responding to the scenario (Pharmacy Student) Good practice of role assignment and teamwork (Paediatric Registrar) Repetition of NVB boosts confidence. Thanks (Midwife student) The interaction helps improve our skills and our confidence in talking to patients (Year 3 Medical Student) Good learning environment and I can see how skills help in emergency (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healthcare Professional student) The session was very realistic and I learnt an important clinical skill (Year 1 medical student) Very realistic. Good feedback session and opportunities for questions (Medical Registrar) Very informative. Found out flaws while attending emergency situations and learning a systematic team approach (Paediatric Nurse)

5 Training events Train the Trainer Series The Train the Trainer Series is a set of sessions run by the Simulation Technician for educators who have some grounding in simulation and clinical skills. It equips them with the necessary skills to go on and run their own scenarios using simulation equipment. The training also introduces the educators to software and programs that ensure the scenarios run smoothly and that they get the best out of both the learner and the educator. NHET-Sim National Health Education and Training in Simulation (NHET-Sim) recently ran training sessions on 30th and 31st May and 20th and 21st June 2013 at the NT Sim Lab. NHET-Sim will be running more sessions on 26 th & 27 th September and 17 th & 18 th October. Core modules cover being a simulator educator and elective modules look at the detail involved with the fundamentals of simulators /mannequins, designing and delivering scenarios, debriefing, use of moulage, video recording and integrating standardised patients into the scenarios.
