5 The University of Nottingham Ningbo China Opened in September 2004 The first Sino-foreign university in China Opened with the full approval of the Chinese Ministry of Education Run by The University of Nottingham UK with cooperation from Zhejiang Wanli Education Group, a key player in the education sector in China A student population of over 6,000 students

7 The city of Ningbo A port city, located on the coastline of mainland China Population of over 5 million people 3 hours from Shanghai by bus or train via the Hangzhou bridge Campus is 20 minutes from Ningbo city centre by bus or taxi

8 The academic experience Staff recruited from Nottingham UK and internationally Teaching subject to the same Quality Assurance as Nottingham UK Your study programme at UNNC is approved by your School in the UK

9 Facilities on the Ningbo campus Multi-level library Computer resource areas 24 hour security Shopping street with a supermarket, fruit store, post office Canteens, restaurants and cafes Superb sports facilities

10 Accommodation on campus Building 11: International students only. Traditional hall of residence with single rooms Buildings 18 and 20: International and Chinese. Shared flats with single rooms and a shared common room & kitchen Chinese halls: shared rooms by 4 students Self-catering possible but many students eat out on a regular basis

Complete application form: Current students Study Abroad China & Malaysia Campuses Submit to the Academic Adviser given on your School s factsheet A minimum grade average may apply but you must pass Approval lies with your Academic Adviser You are responsible for meeting deadlines, submitting documents and reading information

12 Timeline Passport Application Predeparture Documents submission Apply for visa Your passport must be valid until 6 months after your return from China ie at least until end July/Dec 2017 Your passport is linked to your application documents If you do not have a valid passport you must apply for one NOW Dual nationality use one consistently Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau nationals Name must be consistent with passport

Timeline Passport Application Predeparture Documents submission Apply for visa If your time abroad is compulsory you still need to submit application documents Application deadline Friday 5 February 2016 Information meeting with other outgoing students early March 2016 Document submission deadline mid-march 2016

Timeline Passport Application Pre- Departure Documents submission Apply for visa Apply for visa after you have received your offer pack The offer pack will be sent to the UK International Office You are responsible for applying for your Chinese visa Advice on how to do this will be given at the pre-departure in March 2016

15 Finance overview You will pay a reduced tuition fee to Nottingham UK Automatic and means-tested International Office bursaries available University bursaries continue to be paid whilst abroad Overseas rate of loan and means-tested travel grant available from Student Finance (SLC) Living costs significantly lower than Nottingham Students responsible for all additional costs Details of tuition fees and bursaries are provided on the Study Abroad Finance web page: Current students Study Abroad Study Abroad Finance
