1 GLOBAL BUILDING SYSTEMS, INC. 300 EAST WILLIS, SUITE B PRESCOTT, AZ (928) THE STEP-TECH SYSTEM TOMORROW S BUILDING TECHNOLOGY TODAY March Global Building Systems, Inc. May Not Be Reproduced Without Written Permission
2 Global Building System s STEP-Tech System GBSI has developed a patented, efficient, affordable, low-tech method for a complete building system that creates a true thermal envelope for super energy efficient buildings. Our mission is to become the national standard for high performance sustainable building technology with our STEP-Tech System. STEP-Tech is an engineered panelized system using lightweight steel struts embedded in EPS foam to create interlocking panels for exceptional strength and versatility. Our roof and wall connection creates a continuous thermal break with virtually no air infiltration. Easy to assemble 2,000SF building frame + roof in one day with low skilled labor Suitable for residential, commercial, industrial and high rise construction Cost effective for both high and low-end markets Highly resistant to fire, mold, water, termites, rodents, hurricanes Significant cost savings in material and labor vs. traditional stick/mortar construction These benefits result in higher profits for builders and lower energy/maintenance costs for consumers! The U.S. Department of Energy s Oakridge National Laboratory testing found that STEP-Tech System panels have highest R-Value rating of any other panels tested. The STEP-Tech System meets the guidelines for USDOE s Builder s Challenge for 2012 today. Our proprietary roof-wall connection virtually eliminates air infiltration, resulting in a whole building HERS rating in the low 60 s. This translates to 5 Star Plus ENERGY STAR rating the highest possible. A consumer could pay less than $300 a year to heat and cool a 1,500 square foot home. With virtually no air infiltration, fresh air exchange is introduced in a controlled manner resulting in an efficient and healthy home environment. All of the components are SFC free, there is no off-gassing Third-party structural testing results: Wall panels support load equivalent to wind speeds in excess of 173 mph Wall panels withstand 27,500 lbs of axial load Roof panels withstand snow loads over 20 feet Our platform strategy for including sustainable finishing products to the STEP-Tech System qualifies buildings for MBDC s Cradle-to-Cradle certification, the next generation of sustainable building technologies that focuses on the ability to recycle most if not all building components. The galvanized steel and EPS foam used in our panels are made of recycled material content and both are completely recyclable after their effective life.
3 Wall Section Advantages: 1. T strut thermal break 2. Preformed utility chase 3. Snap together design GBSI invented and patented an efficient, affordable, low-tech method for a complete building system that creates a true thermal envelope for super energy efficient Roof-Wall Intersection Advantages: 1. Complete thermal break 2. No air infiltration 3. Easy/quick assembly Continuous Foundation Connection Advantages: 1. Insulated footer 2. Wind & Seismic resistance 3. No air infiltration Additional STEP-Tech System Technology Advantages A significant component of GBSI s platform strategy is that common materials that are currently being used as either roof or wall finishing can be used with our product. Our STEP-Tech product is so contractor friendly that almost all local indigenous materials can be used on our walls and roof to make the houses look exactly like those in the surrounding area. This allows our product to be used in all applications ranging from low-income to high-income homes. I-sections embedded in the roof allow for unsupported spans up to 22 feet. Large projects using 1 4 models can reduce costs by moving our panel assembly process to the building site, minimizing raw material movement. With significantly lower energy demand, STEP-Tech homes are solar practical. A typical 1,600SF stick-and-brick home requires a 4.5 kilowatt PV solar system. A similar STEP-Tech home requires less than half that amount. STEP-Tech panel fabrication dimensions are configured to optimize the material usage of EPS foam manufacturers. This minimizes manufacturing steps and production scrap. Construction site scrap is almost zero.
