13 Peer Mentors CSUF students in the STEM fields who have experience in the transfer transition process In many cases, Peer Mentors are students who transferred from the partner colleges Outreach Activities Meet with students one-on-one at the community colleges Facilitate workshops Classroom presentations and information tables

15 CSUF Welcome Day In the Spring, University wide Open House Designed to introduce students and their families to CSUF (STEM) 2 added components tailored to our partner community college students and families (lab tours and student panel)
16 Summer Research Experience (SRE)
17 Program Specifics 8-week summer program that exposes community college students to research Selected participants placed in a lab with a faculty mentor Students submit a research paper and present their findings at the Summer Research Symposium Research experience provides CSUF recognition, eases transfer transition and exposure to other STEM majors
18 SRE DATA as of Fall : 26 participants (31% URM) 26 of 26 transferred to a four-year institution (100%) 8 of 26 transferred to CSUF (31%) 2013: 35 participants (53% URM) 31 of 35 transferred to a four-year institution (89%) 17 of 35 transferred to CSUF (49%) 2014: 39 participants (51% URM) 18 of the 39 will transfer to a four-year institution (46%) 11 of the 39 will transferred to CSUF (31%)

23 TRC Usage (STEM) 2 Transfer Resource Center has seen a 63% increase of usage from year 2 to year 3 of the grant. Past year average monthly usage 555 students In both years, over 90% of students utilizing the Center were upperclassmen (Junior standing and above). In both years, Under Represented Minority student usage was at 47%
