Walk/Trot Sections are provided to allow multiple riders to show the same horse. *Sections will be assigned at Coach s request. RIDERS: Riders are encouraged to be in a professionally operated lesson program and to be a member of AHA, with neither being required. Riding suits and chaps are not allowed. Riding pants, jodhpurs, breeches or colored jeans are considered appropriate. A neatly fitted shirt or top is suggested. A riding helmet is also mandatory for riders 10 and under and suggested for all ages. Appropriate footwear with a small heel is mandatory. Riders are NOT allowed to cross enter into any non-act riding classes, and are ineligible to compete in ACT classes once they have shown in a full riding suit or in a Class A Arabian horse show. HORSES: Horses are encouraged to be lesson horses of any breed and should display the characteristics of such, but it is not mandatory that they are utilized by in a professional lesson all horses are welcome, as long as they display good manners and a quiet disposition. A cut-back saddle for saddle seat, western saddle for stock seat, and hunt saddle for hunt seat are to be used. Work bridles and bits, including snaffles, are allowed, and running martingales are permitted and encouraged. However, tie down martingales are not allowed. The horse show management may eliminate any horse or rider that is deemed unsafe or is not abiding by these rules. ACT entries are to follow horse show rules but are not AHA or USEF sanctioned classes. Show grooming is permitted, but not necessary as HORSES ARE NOT TO BE JUDGED. JUDGING: All academy classes are to be judged on the ability of the rider to control and show their horse to its best advantage, and upon the riding skills of the rider. Each class should be judged on the rider s basic equitation and horsemanship skills suited to the class discipline, with emphasis placed on the rider s ability to control the horse at all times, identify correct diagonals and leads promptly, and to control their horses rate in a consistent manner. Riders should convey the impression of good posture, balance, and effective control while commanding proper speed of gaits and show ring placement. Headers are allowed in the lineup in all walk-trot classes. The show office will open Thursday morning and remain open until approximately 9p.m. The show office will close 15 minutes prior to each session and will reopen and remain open throughout each session unless otherwise posted or announced. ENTRIES CLOSE: February 19 th, Entries postmarked after this date or entered at the show will be charged post entry fees of $5.00 per class. All entries made at the show, regardless of pre-entry, will be charged post entry fees. Mail entries complete with signed entry blank, fee payment (NO BLANK/TAB CHECKS) and all photocopies of membership cards and registration certificates to Show Secretary. 16 Withdrawing Entries & Refunds: Entries may be scratched from the show prior to February 19 th, 2016 with a total refund of all fees. After the entry closing date, a refund of class fees will be made only if a written request accompanied by a veterinarian's certificate is received in the show office by 5:00 p.m., March 3 rd, There will be a $25.00 fee for stop payment of a check when withdrawing entries. If check is not made good, AHA & USEF will be notified and appropriate action will be taken. As a courtesy to other exhibitors and show management, EACH EXHIBITOR IS REQUIRED TO CANCEL ALL CLASSES THEIR HORSE WILL NOT BE COMPETING IN SO THE GATE WILL NOT BE HELD FOR THEM. A penalty of $10.00 per class will be charged to all exhibitors who fail to notify management of class cancellations. Registration Requirements: Horses shown in the Arabian Division must have been issued a certificate of registration from the Arabian Horse Association and must be entered under their full registered name. Horses shown in the Half-Arabian/Anglo-Arabian Division must have been issued a certificate of registration from the Arabian Horse Association in the Half-Arabian or Anglo-Arabian Registry and entered under their registered name. INDEMNITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK: All entries are made and accepted with the understanding that the Missouri Arabian Horse Association will not be responsible for any loss, personal injury, or damage to any horse exhibited or for any article of any kind or nature that may be lost, destroyed or in any way damaged and each participant assumes the risk of any such injury and recognizes that participation in activities involving horses is inherently risky. (BOD 5/12) USEF STATEMENT: Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $30 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. Missouri State Health Requirements: An official health certificate issued within 30 days of the show by a licensed veterinarian must accompany all horses not residing in the State of Missouri. A negative Coggins certificate issued within the past 12 months must accompany all horses. The health and original Coggins certificates must be available for inspection at the time of check in. Do not mail with your entry. In case of suspected unsoundness or as a safeguard against communicable disease, all horses are subject to physical inspection by the show veterinarian. 16

17 USEF GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule 1. At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by Competition Management. Documentation should consist of one of the following methods mentioned below. The frequency of vaccine administration should be per the vaccine manufacturers or veterinarian s recommendations. It is recommended that vaccines are administered by or under the direction of a veterinarian. 2. In the case of vaccines administered by a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide documentation from the veterinarian on documenting that the horse in question received the vaccinations; name of the vaccines and date of vaccine administration. 3. In the case of vaccines administered by a person other than a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a receipt of the vaccine purchase which is signed by the owner, or agent with care, custody, and control of the horse; name, serial number and expiration date of the vaccine; and date of vaccine administration. 4. In the case of a horse that is unable to receive either of the vaccinations due to a history of adverse reactions, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a letter from the veterinarian on official letterhead stating that the horse in question cannot be vaccinated due to medical concerns and a log of temperatures taken twice daily for the seven days prior to entering the competition grounds. These horses must also have their temperature taken and logged twice daily while on the competition grounds. The log of temperatures should be provided to the Competition Management, steward, or technical delegate when requested. 5. Competition Management may not amend or enhance vaccination requirements without prior approval of the Veterinary Committee. BOD 1/17/15 Effective 12/1/15. Stabling: Those exhibitors wishing to be stalled together must send all entries, with the correct fees, together in the same envelope. ALL HORSES ENTERED MUST HAVE A STALL. NO SHOWING OUT OF TRAILERS. All stalls are permanent 10X10 stalls with doors and are under cover. No stalls will be reserved without payment. All horses stalled must be entered in the show.. Bedding must be purchased from the National Equestrian Center. Minimum two bales are required per stall and are $8.00 each for a total of $16. Arrival Time: Horses will be accepted Thursday, March 3rd after 9:00 am. Anyone who wants to arrive before this time should advise the barn manager of your arrival date and time. There will be an additional charge of $25.00 per day per horse for early arrivals. The barn manager will post stall assignments near the show office. All stall doors are locked and will be opened by the barn manager upon your arrival. Departure Time: All horses must depart the show grounds no later than midnight, Sunday, March 6th. Exhibitors wanting to remain after this time must make special arrangements with the barn manager and will be charged an additional fee of $25.00 per day per stall. Arenas: The show will be held in two (2) separate indoor arenas, which have excellent heated facilities for both the horse and rider. The main show arenas are 120'x240' with a dirt/sand mixture footing. The adjoining warm-up arenas are 100'x200' with a dirt/sand mixture footing. Exhibitors will be permitted to work horses in the indoor ring between sessions up to one-half hour prior to the start of the session at which time the ring will be closed for show preparation. The show arenas will be open for working horses on Thursday, March 3rd at 9:00 AM and will remain open each day until midnight and will reopen for showing the following day. Campers & Horse Trailers: Complete camping facilities and showers are located near the show arena. Advance reservations are not required. The fairgrounds personnel will collect fees daily at the rate of $30 per night. No vehicles of any kind will be allowed in the arena, paddock or schooling areas. Dogs: Your dogs are welcome at our show. Since we also welcome children, please remember to keep your dogs contained or on a leash at all times for the safety of the children, horses, and your dog. The warm-up ring and show arena building are off-limits for our canine friends. Protests: Any protest must be filed in accordance with USEF Rules and/or AHA Code of Ethics rules. Officials: In the event that an official is unable to perform his duties, the Show Committee reserves the right to substitute an official according to USEF rules. The judge will break any tie in a jumping class. Exhibitors are warned that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the officials on the part of the owner, groom, rider, driver or handler will disqualify the horse from adjudication. The management reserves the right to remove the horse's owner, groom, rider, driver, and/or handler from the show without being liable for compensation or damages. 17

18 Protective Headgear: Riders in all classes where jumping is required and when jumping anywhere on the show grounds, must wear protective headgear. Refer to current USEF Rule Book GR 318 & GRI Calls for Classes: Classes will be called promptly. First call when second class ahead enters the ring; second call when preceding class enters the ring; third call while ribbons are being awarded in the preceding class. Two minutes will be allowed after the first horse in the class enters the ring, after which the gate will be closed. If tack changes are necessary, it is the exhibitor's responsibility to notify the gateman and request a three minute gate hold. The public address system and class calls are a courtesy. It is the exhibitor's responsibility to have their horses at the gate at the prescribed time. Motorized Vehicles: NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED ON THE NEC GROUNDS. Minors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. OPTION CLASSES: 15 Option Classes are available and will be named A-O and will run in the schedule wherever you choose (Example 100D will follow class 100). Option classes will be held on a first come/first served basis if the sponsorship fee of $25 plus regular class entry fee (no post to apply) is paid. Send the request with your entry or you can make your request in the show office. There will be no late entry fees for any horse entered in an Option class. PERFORMANCE DIVISION To be eligible for Championship classes, horse must have been entered, shown and judged in any class in that division. There will be payback only for ATR Championship classes and Open Native Costume Classes and will be paid regardless of number of entries. Payback checks must be picked up in the office as they will not be mailed. HALTER/IN HAND DIVISION First two place winners of all halter classes may show back in the corresponding championship class if eligible. All Breeding/In Hand classes will use the In The Ring Class Procedure. DRESSAGE/SPORT HORSE DIVISION The 2015 USDF/USEF Dressage Tests will be used. Sport Horse in Hand classes will use the Triangle pattern. Refer to USEF Subchapter AR-12. Open to Arabians/Half-Arabians/Anglo-Arabians. Dressage and In Hand Entries will be accepted on a first come/first served basis. Post entries for Dressage and In Hand will be accepted to fill scratched classes, and under the same rules as govern other performance classes. Dressage classes will not necessarily run on the posted day or in Prize List order. A/HA/AA Warm Up Class: No Fee. Open to all riders. Horses may be shown in Training Equipment and are to be shown at a Walk, Trot/Jog and Canter. This class will not be judged and no ribbons will be awarded. Liberty Class Specifications: Horses are to be judged on performance, movement, type, presence, and animation. Handler will lead the horse to a designated marker and remove halter. Time and music will start when the halter is removed. While at liberty the horse may perform any gait. Any horse performing any tricks or acts under the apparent control/command of the handler will be disqualified. Only 2 handlers are permitted and each may carry an approved halter whip. Horse is not to be stood up at halter before being turned loose. Time expires after 2 minutes and horse will be eliminated if not caught in a further 2 minutes. Each entry will furnish a CD to be turned in at the show office prior to the beginning of the session containing the Liberty class and must be marked with the horse's name, entry number, and song number. 19
