EN-POWER GROUP has worked with many New York City multifamily, institutional, government, and commercial clients in developing and implementing comprehensive energy solutions, which utilized many of NYSERDA s incentive programs including Multifamily Performance Program (MPP), Technical Assistance Program, Peak Load Reduction Program, Aggregated Load Reduction Program, and Enhanced Commercial Industrial Performance Program. EN-POWER GROUP has acted in lead capacity in auditing (ASHRAE Levels I, II, and III), designing, and implementing of comprehensive energy efficiency scopes of work in many multifamily buildings in New York City. Since becoming a NYSERDA MPP Partner in 2007, EN-POWER GROUP has brought over 30 multifamily properties (8,000+ units) through NYSERDA s MPP program, in all cases meeting and exceeding the program s energy performance targets. We also coordinated with property owners in strategizing additional financing options (e.g. NYSERDA s loan program) and participation through WAP. DHW was produced with tankless coils in both boilers. EN-POWER GROUP s main scope consisted of: 1. Replacement of the single-stage absorption chiller with two 200-ton two-stage natural gas-fired absorption chillers. This upgrade increased the cooling plant s COP from 0.62 to Additionally, the use of the boilers for steam production was eliminated for cooling. 2. The 200-ton chillers that were installed have the capacity to be in heating mode. Each chiller-heater has a heating capacity 1,950 MBH. During the winter months, the new chiller-heaters support a new 100 HP EASCO hot water boiler. The new heaters are all equipped with fully-modulating burners. 3. The 100-HP boiler is a DHW-priority heater. The boiler was installed along with a double wall plate and frame heat exchanger, 200-gallon DHW tank, and electronic mixing valve. 4. Additional upgrades consisted of updated EMS system (Heat Timer HWR- Platinum) and a building-wide lighting upgrade. Conformance to originally proposed schedule and budget: Yes. 5 The Camelot was equipped with a ton single stage absorption chiller with a COP of The chiller used steam from two 400-HP steam boilers, which were also used for DHW production. EN-POWER GROUP s main scope consisted of: 1. Replacement of the single-stage absorption chiller with two 200-ton two-stage natural gas-fired absorption chillers. This upgrade increased the cooling plant s COP from 0.52 to Additionally, the use of the boilers for steam production was eliminated for cooling. 2. The DHW system was upgraded by installing separate indirect natural gas-fired DHW heater. The installed equipment includes two 2,500 MBH (83% efficient) water heaters, two 200-gallon storage tanks, one electronic mixing valve. 3. The 50-HP condenser pump was upgraded with a new NEMA premium efficiency pump controlled by a new 2-speed controller. The new controller is designed to operate at half-speed when only one chiller operates, significantly reducing electric costs as only one chiller operates 75% of the time. Conformance to originally proposed schedule and budget: Yes.
