2 Control systems to suit all Hi Tech offers a range of products spanning simple single channel VTR control through to control of multiple devices ranging from cameras, switchers and routers to multi-viewers and the supporting infrastructure. The subsequent pages describe the tools that we offer to build a control system to suit your specific technical or operational requirements and to sow some seeds as to the possibilities opened up by using Hi Tech products. Unified control system Hi Tech makes a control system - Ancora - to provide a common human interface to a large variety of products with an easy to use design application to build GUIs, hardware panel layouts and workflows. Configurable hardware panels With a highly innovative design, our Array control panels can form a work surface by combining panels with a databus for communications and power. They are designed for use with our software systems or with third party software applications by means of the SDK that we provide. Software based video server control Applications for Ingest, playout, automation and news - Avita is available as a software package or integrated with our hardware control panels. VTR and disk controllers A range of single to eight channel VTR control panels and two port server control panels. Custom and OEM services We undertake the design and manufacture of low volume control systems for end users or OEMs.

3 Ancora The system is for the creation of a unified control interface to simplify complex workflows comprising multiple devices and control surfaces by means of tools to design GUIs and panel layouts to operate and manage key functions of connected equipment. 4 Array Array is a range of robust, compact and stylish control panels that can be mixed and matched to form an Array Surface. The panels can be fully integrated with our Avita production control, Ancora device and infrastructure control system software or supplied as an OEM product. Installation is simplified - desk top panels are easily joined together magnetically - power and data is distributed between the panels via a data bus that has concealed connectors. Only one power and network connector is required and up to four control panels can be joined together - they then form an ergonomic curve and give the customer the most flexible configuration. 5 Avita Avita is a production control system comprising a number of software applications used to control video servers and peripheral equipment to create and play media. The system is highly flexible, configurable and expandable as customer s requirements change. Hi Tech has worked closely with the major manufacturers of video servers to ensure control fidelity and has an extensive list of tested devices. The various software applications cover a number of workflows and range from simple play/record functions up to complex automation systems. Up to sixteen video server ports can be controlled by each Avita and can involve multiple operators and/or multiple servers. Additionally, our Array control panels can be integrated into an Avita system in situations where the confidence of pressing buttons is required. Avita applications are as follows: General purpose play/record and play listing (either shot-box or automated play) - Gearbox Scheduled record and play back with a calendar styled GUI - Scheduler ABCD news style play out with a MOS interface to a news system - Multiplay Live record & review, and highlights packaging - Eventer Easy preparation of video tape spot reels from video clips - Differential Main/Back up mirroring - Reflector Management of multiple clip databases on multiple servers - Servo Remote clip database management - Synchro Gearbox Avita has extensive search capabilities to locate specific video clips in a server s database. The clip lists are updated dynamically as new clips are generated on the video server(s) and all configuration settings, clip databases and play lists are automatically saved in non-volatile memory. Play lists can be imported and exported as.xml files and as-run logs are available. Scheduler MultiPlay The GUIs are optimised for touch screen operation and can be customised for layout and size of clip lists and play lists. When connected to an Array Surface, and up to six can be connected to one Avita, the panels layout of functionality and appearance is easily programmed within Avita and multiple set ups stored for later recall.

6 VTR control Hi Tech manufactures a range of VTR controllers that have become the industry standard in many parts of the world. They allow one operator to control one or more VTRs up to a maximum of eight and come in a variety of forms: Single port with or without a time code display Dual port with display and an editor version Four or eight port with optional keypad for rapid cueing and optional T-Bar for sports replay All of the above use Sony BVW remote control protocol and we also have AMP and VDCP versions of the two port controller. Custom designs Hi Tech undertakes the design and manufacture of custom panels and control software either based on our core products or designed from a unique specification. A major advantage of using our custom service is that low volume manufacture can be undertaken without punitive tooling charges since we have a wide range of hardware that is highly adaptable. Examples include: An operator s hardware panel for use with a major manufacturer s news system A sports controller for a fast action replay system A standard Hi Tech panel with custom firmware for a play out system Custom software for a specific automation back up system Additionally we have SDKs for our Array panels so that third party manufacturers can write their own interface to their products.

7 A little about us Hi Tech Systems has been designing and manufacturing control panels and control systems for the broadcast television industry since Our products are designed and built in the UK and are in daily use world-wide. Our network of international distributors provides local sales and technical support for our customers both big and small. In 2011 Hi Tech released a suite of software applications augmented with a range of hardware control panels to enhance our server control products and has now launched a comprehensive control and management system to integrate the control of multiple devices across a broadcast TV facility into one familiar hardware surface and/or GUI.
