2 How to apply 1. Please complete the attached application form, grammar task (course only) and written application task (course only). Please contact us if you have any questions about the tasks. 2. Submit your application documents by post, fax or . Please send us a deposit of 300. Courses cannot be booked until we receive all the documents and the deposit. 3. If you would like the school to arrange accommodation, we also require the accommodation fee and the accommodation booking fee in advance. 4. On receipt of the completed application form and deposit, Experience English will arrange an interview. 5. Full payment should be received by Experience English two weeks before the start of the course. Information and conditions of application Application and Entry Requirements: You must: Be at least 18 years old (candidates are usually aged 20 or over, but candidates between 18 and 20 years old can be accepted at our discretion). Most candidates have, or are working towards, a university degree. Have sufficient awareness of language and competence in both written and spoken English to enable you to pass the course and teach a range of levels (C2 on the CEFR). Have the potential to develop the necessary skills to become an effective teacher, and to meet the course criteria by passing assessed teaching practice and written assignments. You should normally have, as a minimum entry requirement, a standard of education equivalent to that required for entry into higher education. Please apply early to avoid disappointment. Please complete the application form and tasks in detail. You must submit a valid proof of ID with your application. We can only accept your application along with the tasks and proof of ID. If you require a visa to come to the UK to study, we can offer a Visa Support letter to assist with your visa application (for full time courses only); this letter can only be issued once you have been accepted onto the course and have paid all course fees in full. For further information please contact the school. If you are visiting the UK with a Tier 4 visa, you must ensure that the CELTA course does not interfere with the course that you have permission to stay for. We will ask for evidence that this is the case. Application process: If your application has been unsuccessful and we cannot offer you a place on the course that you have applied for, Experience English will return your deposit less a 50 administration fee. If, after the interview, you decide that you do not wish to accept a place on the course, please send a letter of cancellation to the Head of School within 48 hours of your interview time. If the letter is received, Experience English will return your deposit less a 50 administration fee. We recommend that you deliver the letter by hand or use registered post. If you fail to inform us within the 48 hours time limit, your deposit will not be subject to refund.

3 Preparing for the course: After you have been accepted on the course, you will be sent a pre-course task, which you should complete before starting the course. The task is designed to raise your awareness of all aspects of language teaching, and will give you the opportunity to prepare for the CELTA course. We do not expect you to complete the task in one sitting; it could take up to 15 hours to complete. In addition, we recommend the following books to help you prepare for the course. Please indicate your preference in the application form. How to pay for your course Bank Transfer: Please contact the school for bank transfer details. All bank charges must be paid in the country of origin. Credit/Debit Card: We accept Visa, Mastercard or MAESTRO. You can pay by card in person, over the telephone, or by completing a credit card authorisation form. Please note there is a surcharge when paying by card. Cheque: We accept cheques in GB pounds sterling drawn on a British bank. We do not accept foreign cheques or sterling cheques drawn on a foreign bank. Cash: You can pay in person at the school office. Please do not send cash in the post. Refunds No refunds or credit will be given for early departure, absence, or illness during the course. You are recommended to take out insurance to cover this. No refunds will be given if a candidate is unsuccessful on a course as completion of a course does not guarantee that candidates will be successful. Experience English reserves the right to cancel a course for which numbers of participants do not meet the minimum requirement, in which case we will offer an alternative course, or refund full fees. Insurance: We recommend that every student takes out insurance to cover events such as: cancellation or curtailment of the course booked caused by illness, death or injury of spouse, partner, sibling, parent, or child.
