1 Hannah Ball School Newsletter 7th October Dear Parents & Guardians, It was a joy to see you all at the Harvest assemblies this week. We will be collecting goods for the charity one can trust to show our support for the local community. I have to mention the super team work I saw across the class. Creating the Medieval Harvest loaf took a lot of patience and perseverance. I'm really impressed Year 5! Message from the office Don't forget your photo order - deadline is Monday 10 th October Information about how to book appointments for parents evening will be out on Monday. Well done everybody. We are so proud. Overall, this is significantly above national attendance. Absences Absences have a huge impact on your child s education at school. It is vital that they attend everyday so they do not miss out on their education. If your child is unwell, please contact the office before 9.15am and explain the reason why they will not be in. Any holiday, unless there is exceptional circumstances (for which the school will require proof) will be unauthorised. Please bear this in mind when booking holidays.

2 Reception Rubye used cubes to make a two colour pattern. By Falak Year 1 This week in maths, we have been learning to group data in different ways. We have looked at 2D shapes and their properties. Falak did a great job at systematically organising her shapes using a Carroll diagram. Well done to Falak.

3 By Hajrah Year 2 Hajrah wrote a fantastic acrostic poem about Grandma from George s Marvellous medicine. By Fahan Year 3 This week, I have been looking out for children who have shown that they are focused and willing to do their best every lesson. There was one young man in particular who has really shown this throughout this week. That is Fahan! Well Done!

4 By Fatima Year 4 Fatima always gives 100% in everything she does, takes pride in her presentation and good work. Fatima has completed some excellent work in addition and subtraction this week and also in her topic on Raiders and Traders. Her work on why the Vikings invaded was superb. Well done. Fatima would be an asset to any class, with her desire to learn, her polite nature and great manners. By Alishba Year 5 Our fabulous Year 5 this week is Alishba. Throughout the week Myself and Mrs Baldwin have been working with Alishba to help her improve her writing and especially her editing skills. It was great to see Alishba really push herself and aim to achieve! Her resilience has really paid off. Well done!

5 By Avileen Year 6 In year 6, we have been looking at and writing persuasive letters. Avileen has written a fabulous one, trying to persuade Mrs Marsh that we shouldn't have to wear school uniform! Mrs Harbord was particularly impressed with her choice of new vocabulary, which helped make her letter stand out from the rest. Well done Avileen, but will you have done enough to persuade Mrs Marsh? We request that parents do not book holidays and take their children out of school during term time, especially Assessment Weeks.
