Importance of Tissue culture in Agriculture (theory) and Preparing glassware (washing, cleaning and autoclaving) for tissue culture experiments 5. preparation of stock solutions for tissue culture media preparation 6. Tissue Culture media preparations and preparation of explants for different tissue culture experiments like, micro propagation, callus culture, cell cultures, embryo culture etc.(theory and practicals) Sub culturing of tissue culture cultures etc. 7. PCR and its applications in agriculture 8. DNA extraction, quantification and assessment of its quality 9. Recombinant DNA technology and applications in development of transgenic (theory) 0. Sub culturing of tissue cultures, transferring callus on rooting and shooting media Hardening and transferring plantlets to soils Colchicine treatment to haploid plants for producing Doubled Haploids Molecular markers and their role in agriculture (Theory),. Equipments and chemicals required for different molecular markers, washing and autoclaving of glassware for molecular experiments. Plant DNA extraction, PCR and gels Electrophoresis (PAGE, agarose) Development of PCR-based DNA markers like SSRs (Theory) and SNPs + in silico mining of EST, SSRs etc. Introduction of Bioinformatics- primer designing etc Recording of data for different markers and analyzing data using different software Transgenic (theory) Equipments and chemical requirements for the development of transgenic plants 7. 4 OR Title: Long training course Duration: Four-six months training programme, Training Fee: `0000/month Scheduled time of start: Throughout the year The candidate undergoing -6 months training shall be assigned short term research project in the areas of plant tissue culture like, development of tissue culture protocols for economically important plant, anther culture for speedy development of Doubled Haploids and DNA marker technology for diversity analysis, gene mapping, markers assisted pyramids of genes for biotic and abiotic stresses etc. Note:. The duration of training module shall be -6 months and the candidate has to specify clearly the training duration in which he/she will be joining.. Imparting of the aforesaid training is not a regular feature. 3. Candidates will be selected on basis of first-cum-first-serve basis and the maximum number of trainees to be accommodated at a time will in no case exceed twenty.. Training will be imparted during March to June every year subject to the availability of space in the Lab and time with the In-charge of this Lab. 5. For undertaking training, the students should apply in the prescribed format(annexure I) through their respective Principal/Dean/Registrar to the Registrar, CSKHPKV,Palampur H.P. well in time who will forward the same to the concerned Head of the Department for further action. All subsequent correspondences to be made with the concerned Head of the Department. 6. The trainee shall be required to pay the entire training fee at the start of the training. 7. For preparing report of the training it is the whole responsibility of the candidates and only the guidance will be provided. No additional computer facility and printing facility will be provided by the department. 8.
