3 Adventure Sailing Programs Torquay Sailing Club junior and youth sailing programs take a new innovative program focused on adventure. The adventure program as an initiate to bring the fun back into sailing. fun based activities focus on a modern new dinghy, the OpenBIC, and also the super stable and safe Hobie Wave Catamarans Games, trips and expression sessions Registration Register and pay online: torquaysailingclub.org.au/ Note: The following programs require children to be either part of a Torquay Sailing Club Family membership or Junior membership. 4 Junior and Youth Sailing Programs - Skills The sailing programs are all about fun and participation and are an important sporting opportunity for juniors and youth in the Surfcoast region. 5 Gold Pass for Hobie Wave Hire for the sailing season For $300 you can obtain a Gold Pass and use a Hobie Wave Catamaran anytime you like weather permitting (except for when sailing courses are being conducted). 6 About OpenBIC Dinghy Pictures: OpenBIC sailing at Torquay Sailing Club The OpenBIC is a modern sailing dinghy designed with fun sailing as its priority international class durable and suited to local conditions at Torquay open cockpit requires no bailing really fun performance boat exciting regatta s and events suits 7 to 15 years olds suits beginners through to performance sailing Torquay Sailing Club Fleet of OpenBIC s The club owns 4 OpenBIC dinghies. (others available for hire) available for use in sailing school programs facilitates the opportunity for junior and youth to participate and the sporting activity of sailing available for those who cannot afford to buy

7 Introductory Half Day Program Pictures: OpenBIC sailing at Torquay Sailing Club DATE: Sunday October 25 th (9am-12pm) Introduction to the basics of sailing Small fun group with experienced coach Understand the wind, the sea and how sailing works Get wet and have a bunch of fun Great warmup opportunity prior to the weekly sailing programs suits 7 to 15 years olds suits beginners and learning sailors ADULT PROGRAM DATE: Sunday October 25 th (1pm-4pm) Fun into course on Hobie Wave Catamarans Book online at torquaysailingclub.org.au (these programs are open to sailing club members and the public)

8 Green Adventure Fleet OpenBIC Essentials Adventure program sailing is fun and an adventure Course: learn to sail (beginners to early intermediates) Boats: OpenBICs Ages: 7-12 Days: Sundays 9am - 12pm Option 1 (you do not own your own boat) Cost: Series 1 - $170, Series 2 - $190 (club OpenBIC) Option 2 (you own your own boat) Cost: Series 1 - $120, Series 2 - $140 (BYO OpenBIC) NB If you don t own an OpenBIC select option 1. Additionally limited boats may be available for season hire The green adventure fleet is a great fun way to start sailing or build on previous experiences. Get used to the wind, water and boats and get a bit of adventure into your life fun based activities focus on a modern new dinghy, the OpenBIC games, trips and expression sessions learn the key sailing skills and then be ready to join the OpenBIC squad

10 Adventure Fleet - OpenBIC Squad Course: Adventure Fleet - OpenBIC Squad (you can already sail a bit) Boats: OpenBICs Ages: 8-15 Days - Sundays 9am 12pm, Tuesdays 4.30pm pm Cost: Series 1 - $190, Series 2 - $210 NB you need your own OpenBIC. There may be a couple of boats available for charter. This is a special OpenBIC program that will involve many adventures to different sailing locations and events fun based activities focus on a modern new dinghy, the OpenBIC opportunities to try many different watercrafts and water sports (catamarans, stand up paddleboarding) Games, trips and expression sessions Various OpenBIC events (Worlds, State Titles, Sail Melbourne)

12 Hobie - Adventure fleet Course: learn to sail (you're ready to go fast) Boats: Hobie Waves, Hobie 14's, Hobie 16's Ages: 13 + Days - Sundays 9.30am - 12pm Cost: Series 1 - $120, Series 2 - $140 NB you don t need your own boat but if you have a Hobie 14 or 16 let us know to assist in planning This is a special Hobie program that will involve really learning to rip on a catamaran fun based activities focus on a Hobie Waves, Hobie 14 s, Hobie 16 s learn how to fly a hull and go fast small group size sailing in pairs or one up
