To integrate the content from background courses into problem solving applications on typical food industry challenges 2. To provide students with teamwork experiences while solving typical food industry problems 3. To gain experience with locating and utilizing appropriate resources for technical problem solving 4. 2 Topic Outline: The objectives of the course will be achieved through a combination four shortterm projects and one long-term project. Each team will select 4 short-term (ST) projects and one long-term (LT) project 3. Each team will select a team leader for the LT project. The team leader will change for each ST project. All students will have an opportunity to serve as team leader. Assignments: 1. Each ST project will require submission of a project proposal, a draft project report and a final project report; and an oral presentation of each final report. 2. The LT project will require submission of a project proposal, four draft progress reports, a draft final report, and a final report, and an oral presentation of the final report.
