Bratislava, formerly also known as Pressburg, is a city with a long history. The border of the Roman Empire ran through this city, and the old Slavs also lived here. But the primeage of this city began in the 16th century, when it became the main coronation city of Hungary as well as the domicile of the Archbishop. The European nobility built palaces, Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven gave concerts here. Fortunately, the city was hardly affected by wars, and therefore nowadays lets you admire its beautifully renovated city centre: picturesque baroque palaces, fountains, gothic churches, roman lanes and one of the most beautiful old squares in Central Europe. Pressburg has always been a cosmopolitan city, and it still has this vibe now. The city centre is one huge restaurant, cafe, bar, Pub and Club. Art lovers will also get their money s worth. The opera and the ballet of the National Theatre are well renowned. For sportive visitors the city offers many parks and playgrounds. One can take romantic walks through town or a hike through the Železná Studienka or Koliba - there s something for everybody here in Bratislava.

9 Velka pardubicka steeplechase in Pardubice From 69,00 pp in DBL Famous Bohemia steeplechase cross-country which takes usually whole second week-end in October. The lenght is 6.9 km and 1 race takes usually 9-10 minutes. It is the most difficult steeplechase in middle Europe. You can find there mostly czech horses and of course the most popular is a horse Železník who is the record-holder. Velka Pardubicka is not only the race but especially social event where you can meet with a lot of famous people. There are a lot of traditions joined with this event like wearing of large hats at ladies and tuxedos at gentlemans. The most danger, the most cruel and with most of hats these are the reasons why Velka Pardubicka is one of the most famous horse race in the world. The races are most dramatic road races in the world and every year there are around moto funs. Best czech drivers Lukas Pesek and Karel Abraham increased interest in this event in a strong way. You can find there only the elite of the European Championship like Jorge Lorenzo or Valentino Rossi. This tournament is rated as the most fun, best organised and the largest.
