(4) Corporate security management: security policies, verification of security systems (reports, procedures, regulations and standards). Modern tools of security system management. Planning security development. Strategies and methods of risk management. Quantitative methods of risk management. Course: Management of crises and catastrophes in EU Acquiring the knowledge required for understanding and knowledge of disaster management in the EU in order to establish effective cooperation with the local system of protection and rescue. The concept of crisis (disaster) in the EU: conceptual and methodological aspects Identification of the crisis according to the UN and the European Security Strategy Crisis management in the European Union. Institutions of crisis management in the EU Cross-border disasters Models of cooperation in resolving cross-border disaster rationalization of the International Crisis Management Course: Modern threats and security Acquiring knowledge necessary for understanding modern threats and protection methods. 2 Course: Drills design for crisis situations To introduce students to the need and importance of training employees of various organizational structures for actions in a crisis situation and theoretical development of the study of individual exercises. Educate and train students in designing the necessary documents/component surveys for individual crisis management exercises. Prepare students for joint and individual work on the preparation of data and elements of decision-making, planning, organization and execution of training employees of various structures in the prevention and resolution of crises. - The basic assumption functioning of the system of protection and rescue: assesment of causes of accidents, natural disasters and technical accidents; basic terms, the dynamics of engagement force for elimination of consequences; legal conditions of use CAF in extraordinary circumstances. - The importance and role of the state administration body in protection and rescue; - The concept and importance of design methodology exercises; - Types, purpose and content of exercises crises; - The organization of exercises crises: leadership exercises, section situations, trainees; - Elaborate exercises: management decisions to initiate development of the study, the implementation plan for the exercise, the plan of the exercise, participants preparedness for exercise planning exercises; - Performing the exercise: the decision making process, the dynamics by developing situations, security measures during the exercise, the evaluation exercise, potential errors in the preparation and organization of exercises - Analysis of the exercise; - Research by conducting exercises. Course: Information Technology of Crisis Managemet To train students to understand and participate in the analysis of existing and necessary data and information indispensable for crisis management. To learn and master through exercises the application of contemporary methods for the development (design) of information systems which will enable crisis management to manage and make decisions in all phases of crisis situations (events). To master basic preconditions for the organization of crisis management information systems within the framework of existing modern information technology. To introduce students to the existing information systems of importance for the crisis management, their application (or upgrading) for the functioning in special (crisis) situations. To introduce students to GIS technology as main infrastructure in the information systems for crisis situations and events. 1. Data and information of crisis management system. 2. Course: Assessment of the disasters Gaining knowledge of the principles and methodology of collecting and analyzing information, procedures for the preparation and implementation of an effective rapid assessment and the processes that are implemented in gathering relevant information on the needs and priorities immediately after major accidents and disasters. 1. Principles of assessment after major accidents and disasters 2. Types of estimates for various events 3. Preparing for rapid and effective assessment 4. Sectoral estimation of the disaster 5. Information management after major accidents and disasters 6. Reporting after an assessment 7. The assessment as an important tool in decision-making 8. Methodology of international organizations (UN, IFRC, NATO, EU) for assessing disaster 9. Assessment of damage in Croatia 10. Practical exercise

3 Course: Critical Infrastructure Management Inform students about processes that endanger critical infrastructure and methods of integral approach to developing, managing, using and protecting critical infrastructure and system, with objective to become able to recognize and overcome problems in managing critical infrastructure and systems. - definition of critical infrastructure, networks and systems - management systems in critical infrastructures - interdependence of critical infrastructures - management systems and levels of management in emergency situations - crisis, risk assessment and problem solving - mathematical and computer models of risk assessment - logistics in critical infrastructures - relations between critical infrastructure management and public - role of media in managing critical infrastructure - case study of a crisis Course: Crisis management of public health Acquiring knowledge and skills needed to understand and effective crisis management of the health system and health organizations (public and private). 1. The health care system (the concept, purpose, organization) 2. The medical institution as an organization - definition, importance, jurisdiction, legislation 3. The underlying assumptions of engagement and participation of health professionals working in health institutions 4. The risks and crises that may occur in health facilities 5. Health action in crises (disaster, extraordinary events) 6. Crisis planning in health care facilities 7. Case study Course: Psychological aspects of crisis management The aim of the course is to introduce students to the psychological aspects of crisis, and in which areas of crisis management psychologists can contribute effectively to mitigate / resolve the crisis. Understanding and applying the principles of scientific work in the research field of crisis management. 1. Basics of personality structure, cognitive, motivational and emotional processes 2. Preventing and resolving conflict 3. Types of crisis with psychological point of view 4. Psychological aspects of public safety 5. Psychological aspects of disasters and accidents 6. Psychology of war and terrorism 7. Trauma and recovery from trauma 8. Psychology of criminal acts

4 Course: Research methods and crisis management To train students on the basis of the acquired theoretical knowledge and skills through courses taken and passed during the graduate study, self identification and analysis of the situation, proposing alternative solutions and choice and making supporting documentation for the preparation and operation in resolving certain crises specifically chosen for the case. Through the above-mentioned case, students will be trained to produce graduate work, where will strive to selected research entity makes a template for their graduate work. Students will work on selected case chosen by the student in consultation with the advisor and work through the following areas: airport, maritime ports, Sports (Multi-Media) Center, Fire Department, Economic Organization (optional), state institutions (optional), Settlement (optional), School institution (optional). Specific information about the case is based on real data of the observed subject. The case is carried out through the following phases: - Definition of the case and the initial parameters of the selected entity, - Determination of the risk matrix of potential crises, - The methodological procedures to deal with cases, - Case, - Proposal for different solutions, explaining the reasons and conditions of implementation, - Preparation of complete documentation, - Defense Solutions. Course: Information Security Objective of the course is to educate students to recognize and reduce critical risks and to direct their efforts towards maintaining safety and protection of information, whether on paper, in electronic format or in the mind of an employee. Formation of information security policies and planning information security management system, as well as the continuity of operation. 1.
