7 Course Description Arabic Language 1 (-0) This course contains a set of linguistic skills in different levels such as the sounds of the Arabic language, its morphology, syntax, rhetoric, lexicography and writing. It includes as well as on applications on the use of Arabic dictionaries and applications on some writing skills indispensable for scholars in their working lives. It also contains a refined set of Quranic, poetry and short stories of Arabic texts to give the learners the opportunity to be in contact with and to appreciate these texts. Pre-req. Arabic 99 or passing Arabic Level Exam Arabic Language 2 (-0) This course aims to develop student's skills in writing and expression and to provide him with the necessary and basic ones in order to employ them in his daily use, and enable him to stand on the origins of various Arabic scripts, and access to various forms of technical and functional old and new writing. Pre-req English 1 (-0) Is a complete graded course for foreign learners of English; it covers the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing; as well as improving pronunciation and building vocabulary; particular emphasis is placed on listening and speaking; the language of the course is British English. Pre-req. English 99 or passing English Level Exam English 2 (-0) Is a continuation of English I Course in terms of approach and methodology However, it covers a new range of interesting topics, and provides a more advanced grammar syllabus in a communicative context as well, therefore, this topic tends to be a continuation of ENGL 101 goals. Pre-req Computer Skills 1 (0-6) An introduction to computing and the broad field of information technology. Topics covered include the basic structure of digital computer systems; operating systems; application software; data communication and networks; and the Internet hands-on learning emphasizes windows (latest operating systems); MS-Office; and the Internet Military Science (-0) This course aims at providing university students with general military culture and illustrating the overall military capabilities of the armed forces to defend the homeland and its role in development and service of the Jordanian society through lectures and field visits National Education (-0) The course of National Education is one of the compulsory requirements of all students in Jordanian universities, national and private. The general intent is to provide students with the theoretical and practical knowledge of the homeland (Jordan), land and people, and to consolidate the love of the homeland and national brotherhood in them, to motivate them to serve the nation and the people consciously and sincerely, to be innovative and competitive by exhortations to achieve the desired progress in various fields of life.

8 Course Description Introduction to the Law (-0) The legal rules that organize individuals, behavior in their community and country. Law which governs and organizes relation- ships among individuals and its divided into the penal, the administrative, constitutional and the international law the private law is that law which governs and organizes the relationships between individuals and the state and it is divided into civil law, commercial law, sea law and the agriculture law Introduction to Criminology (-0) This course aims to enrich students' knowledge of the concepts of crime punishment. Also, it provides students with laws, rules and introduces to them the roles of the related institutions Theories of Criminology (-0) The most important theories in criminology such as; control theory, general theory of crime, the biological theory (human genetics) also it includes the attitudes towards interpretation of recent and Punishments 1 (-0) The definition of punishments law and it is reaction with other laws. Also its application in place and time above all it presents the penal responsibility, its limits and its importance Punishment 2 (-0) This course includes crimes regarding the public, money and peoples regarding the crimes that actually occurred continuously The Judicial System in Jordan (-0) The judicial system of Jordan, the judicial authorities, the systemic courts and its levels Human Rights and international law (-0) Human rights and it is background, freedom, elections, individuals, freedom, money, and the divisions of the international law according to peace and war. The states rights and duties, and the conflict among countries and it is settlements peacefully. The course also deals with the international crimes that included in the United Nations charter Overcoming Crime and Security Theory (-0) The philosophy of current social defense and the role that the family plays in overcoming crime. The role of the security departments in dealing with the crime. The security concept, the modern security theory and social security Behavioral Disorders (-0) The psychological disorders such as phobia, shock, social anxious, and depression, eating and being fat. The features and the categories of behavioral disorders. Analytical theories, behaviorism, knowledge, humanism and focusing on the differences between these different theories The Security of Information and Transactions (-0) The theories and the strategies of information protection, but from the technical point it is the aids and the means that are used to protect the information from the internal and the external danger. Also from the legal point it is kept as confidential information in order to achieve its aim Penal Psychology (-0) The definition of penal psychology and crime. Also it includes the biological, social and psychological theories. The criminal behavior and it is classification in the Islamic laws Security Theories of Crime from the Islamic and Mass (-0) Perspectives Security as concept and the way of over coming crime from the Islamic point of view, and the importance of audio and visual mass media in over coming crime in the society. Students need to prepare a crime project.

9 Course Description Drugs and crime (-0) Definition of medicine related to the offenses and the Definition of the concept of toxic drugs in harmful and prohibited drugs related to the crimes and forensic medicine Penal Investigations and Evidence (-0) Analyzing the various policies of penal justice which includes a general preview of the jobs of the public ministries and the theories concerning planning and organization of ministries. also, introducing students with knowledge about crime and legal issues such as knowing the penal investigations and evidence through knowing its importance, its history, its kinds. Also knowing about prints its categories, kinds used instruments, weapons science as its kinds, its serial numbers, understanding the effect of instrument and analyzing it. Knowing about injuries and its kinds, blood and its kinds, its structure and its position. Also It shows the nature of DNA, Genetics engineering Seminar (-0) All the students who are finishing 90 hrs should prepare a research concerning criminology or he/she should choose subject agreed on by his instructor within the third moth in the semester or in the fourth week in the summer semester Family Violence (-0) Introduction to the study of family violence. Students will develop an understanding of the major issues related to child abuse, gender violence, elder abuse, and intergenerational issues of violence in families. with an overview of all types of violence, identifies issues unique to families, and provides a focused review of dynamics, contributing factors, and types of interventions. More in-depth studies of child abuse and gender violence are covered more thoroughly in other courses offered through the School of Social Work Contemoprary Security Issues (-0) The complex nature of key domestic and international security threats and responses. Topics include terrorism and insurgency, transnational organized crime, WMD proliferation, cyber security, intelligence, national and homeland security strategies, critical infrastructure protection, and theories of international security Communication Skills (-0) SS. are expected to acquire a strong personality through providing them with communication skills and giving them models in order to follow in daily life situation. Also, this course focuses on the types of Leadership and its theories to which is linked to communication skills such as having influence on others Field Training (-0) This training helps students acquire practical skills in dealing with delinquents through applying some practices in rehabilitation centers in order to develop their competence Clinical Psychology (-0) Clinical psychologists diagnose and treat psychological problems as well as help people deal with personal issues, such as divorce or the death of a loved one. It includes Psychology and its effects on humanistic behavior. The theoretical examples of learning, memory and recognition. In addition to understanding the factors that effect people in the social sector Addiction Psychology (2-0) The study of the psychology of addiction embracing the main theories of the development of addictive behaviors; the principal approaches of the treatment of addictive disorders; and training in research in the field of addictions. It includes the reasons behind addiction its shapes and kinds, concerning drugs, alcohol, smoking and medicine. Also, it focuses on the methods of recovering from addiction.

10 Course Description Behavior Modification (2-1) Basics of the behavioral theory, implementation, the various behavioral measures, learning new patterns of behavior, gradual minimization of sensitivity, and behavior contracting Counseling and Psychological Guidance (-0) This course aims to explain the psychological concepts of guidance and counseling and the difference between counseling and psychotherapy, its principles, theories, goals, methods and research methods and approaches especially for families have students with special needs. The focus of this course is to develop competent skills in both group and counseling processes for practical application in the mental health field. Several counseling approaches such as cognitive, behavioral, existential and brief therapy models are presented Computer Security and Electronic Crimes (-0) Knowledge in presenting computers crimes and its kinds, reasons, avoidance and catching criminals, how to prove the crime based or local and international rules, the importance of the people who work in this filed, the role of internet and globally in computer crimes, Real examples of crime and criminals Modern Penalty Policy (-0) Studying the scientific standards of the state right in applying punishment so that students can understand its stages because it can be developed based on society values Correctional Institutional Management (2-1) presenting the social organizations, the features of correctional organizations and features of correctional institutional, the methods of rehabilitation in the correctional institutions Military Science (2-1) Studying the police role in the crime in which applying the preliminary investigations and searching for the criminal since they are the first people who start investigations. So they should follow systematic steps to achieve their aims Correction and Rehabilitation (2-1) The professional knowledge and the skills which are necessary for managing correction and rehabilitation institutions Social Defense (-0) The philosophy, the aims, the principles and the procedures of social defense. Also it includes the provision of crime and delinquency and the role of social work in dealing with crime Mental Health (-0) Develop competent skills in both group and counseling processes for practical application in the mental health field. Several counseling approaches such as cognitive, behavioral, existential and brief therapy models are presented. This interdisciplinary course will provide an overview of foundational concepts that shape mental health practice. Biological basis of mental illness, and various therapeutic modalities including psychological, social, and pharmacological approaches.
