2 WELCOME TO CHAMPION CHEER ACADEMY Our objective is to provide each athlete with constructive and complete training in all areas of all star cheerleading that will allow them to progress and be the best cheer athlete they can be. By choosing Champion Cheer Academy for your childs training, you are choosing an organization that holds to a high standard the virtues of quality, integrity and sportsmanship. Children will look up to and often imitate their leaders. We believe you as a parent should hold us to a high standard of leadership and professionalism. We will continually strive to mold and shape our program to meet as many of your expectations as possible. TEAM PLACEMENTS To be placed on an all star team at Champion Cheer Academy, all athletes will need to attend an individual assessment. An individual assessment takes approximately 20 minutes. Any athlete aged 8-17 who is being considered for a Level 2 team or higher, must also attend a secondary group tryout. INDIVIDUAL ASSESSMENTS Mon. April 20th and Wed. April 22nd 6:00pm-9:00pm Arrive any time within the given window. There is a $30 assessment fee that will be credited to your account at time of registration. TEAM TRYOUTS Level 2 and up: Thurs. April 23rd 6:00pm-8:00pm REGISTRATION Mon. April 27th to Thurs. April 30th Registration will take minutes per athlete. There will be a sit down meeting with parents and athletes to go over paper work and to answer any questions you may have regarding the season.

3 TEAMS AT CHAMPION CHEER ACADEMY PREP STREAM Looking for a great introduction to the world of allstar cheerleading but not sure about the time and financial commitment that a fully competitive team requires? Then Prep is the answer for you. CCA Prep teams practice once per week, plus an additional tumble class for a total of 2.5 hours per week from September April. We also offer an optional summer skills option for those who wish to get a head start. See practice schedule for Prep summer and fall schedule. Age range is Prep teams compete in three competitions throughout the season and wear the same great uniform that our competitive athletes wear. COMPETITIVE STREAM For those athletes looking for the full allstar experience, our competitive stream teams start at the age of 6. Competitive athletes train twice per week, with a portion of team time dedicated to tumbling skills. They compete in 6-7 competitions per season with some overnight travel. Space is limited on all our competitive teams and there are minimum skill requirements (see below) to be placed within the competitive stream. A significant time and financial commitment is expected of all of our competitive athletes and parents. 4 HOW MANY TEAMS CAN I BE ON? There are many opportunities this season to train and compete on more than one competitive team. Any athlete that wishes to crossover to a second team must first fulfill the commitments of their home team. Athletes will all be placed on a home team based on their age and skill level. Athletes who wish to crossover to a secondary team will be placed based on space and availability. If you are a Youth or Junior aged athlete, we want YOU to be on our level one teams that will be competing for bids to the 2016 Summit. The Summit is a competition that showcases the best youth, junior and senior teams that are in non-world competing divisions and takes place in Walt Disney World, Orlando. TUMBLING June August: Drop-in tumbling classes will be available on Monday and Thursday evenings. The registration fee will be $45, plus a $5 drop in fee per class for CCA athletes, and $10 for non-cca athletes. September April: All competitive athletes will have tumbling worked into their team practice time. Additional drop-in classes will be available throughout the season. Please note: all athletes will be evaluated during the tryout process, and given their appropriate level class for registration. All tumbling registration will open up 3 weeks before classes begin.

7 CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM This season, all competitive stream athletes will be required to take a concussion base line test through Cheer Smart. Cheer Smart will be coming to our gym on Sunday May 24th to perform the baseline test. All competitive athletes must attend. A baseline test is a preventative measure that assesses reaction time, memory capacity, and speed of mental processing and executive functioning of the brain. In the event that a concussion does occur throughout the season, this test will be helpful in determining when an athlete is safe to return to practice. ADDITIONAL CLASSES New this season! CCA will be offering specialty classes. These classes are 40 minutes long and focus on strength and conditioning, jumps, flexibility and top training. Register for these classes through our parent portal. See our website for more details on specific classes. SKILL CAMPS CCA offers PA day skills camps as well as summer skill camps. These camps focus on the individual development of athletes tumbling, jump and conditioning skills. Additionally, camps will focus on stunting and performance. Registration will be available through our parent portal. *Our popular summer skills camp will be offered August 10th-14th from 9am-4pm with extended hours available. *PA day skills camps will be: November 13th, 2015 January 18th, 2016

8 CHOREOGRAPHY CAMP (Fri. Sept. 11th-Sun. Sept. 13th) Our very popular choreography camp tradition continues! This season our host location will be at Muskoka Woods Sports Resort. All fees for this event have been included in the yearly tuition including bus transportation. The bus will leave the gym early afternoon on Friday, September 11th and return back to the gym Sunday, September 13th in the evening. All competitive athletes are required to attend camp. This camp is a great opportunity for athletes to participate in team bonding games and activities. Throughout the camp, teams will learn their routine choreography. All meals from Friday dinner through to Sunday lunch will be provided. INDYS/DUOS CCA will be selecting athletes to represent our program in the Duo and Stunt Group competitions at OCF Provincials and OCF Nationals. Athletes will sign up to practice one on one with a coach to prepare them for competitions. Athletes will train from October to April. Tumbling Indy s/duos will practice for 30 minutes per week, and stunt groups will practice one hour per week. The cost of the program will cover instruction, choreography, music and competition fees. Athletes with above average skill sets and strong performance capabilities will be selected during the April team placements and given the opportunity to form pairs or stunt groups with coaches guidance. TEAM MOMS New this season, all competitive and prep teams will have a Team Mom. This mom will be a liaison between other parents and help coaches throughout the season with various tasks.
