Calling all ghosts and goblins! Come to the centre dressed in your Halloween costume today! This morning we will have spooky crafts, a special Circle Time (at 10:30am), and a tasty Halloween treat. We will then go on a Halloween parade inside the YMCA. Happy Halloween 9-11:30am Join us for spooktacular fun! Come wear your Halloween costume and march along with us in our Halloween parade. This morning will be filled with spooky fun, crafts and stories. Registration is required. Tricks & Treats 9:30am Join us for some franken fun, ghoulish snacks and ghostly crafts. 2 Newsletter and Registration Information You can now access our newsletter one or two days prior to registration to begin your planning. Visit any one of these sites to find our newsletter. YMCA Facebook: YMCA of Niagara YMCA of Niagara website: Registration will begin on the first business day of each month and will be taken Monday to Friday from 9am - 4pm. If you do not talk to someone when you call please leave a message and someone will get back to you by the end of the day or the following morning. Messages will be returned in the order they are received. Messages regarding registration left outside the above hours will NOT be accepted. Though creative materials are available in the centre for use at any time, our children s registered workshops are very popular. In order that we might serve more families, we ask that you sign up for only one workshop per child per month. There may be an opportunity to place your child s name on a wait list for other workshops they may be interested in. You may register for as many adult workshops and field trips as you like. To sign-up for all programs please call Monday to Friday (excluding Holidays) Between 9am 4pm only Reminder calls are made to families participating in scheduled workshops. If you are unable to attend a workshop please call the centre where the workshop is being held. Please note that October registration will begin Monday, October 3 at 9am.

Please bring: 1 pie plate, 1 pastry blender, 1 rolling pin and an apron. Come make a fun Fall file folder game (designed with your child 2 years of age and older in mind), that will help your child identify shapes, colours and numbers. No child care available. Learn the indisputable benefits of spending time out of doors, and share/ learn new ways to do it!!! The toddler years are an exciting time of rapid development and growth. It can be a challenge trying to understand the various behaviours that are typical of their age. Join us today as we discuss positive discipline techniques and ways to support them and build healthy self esteem. Expecting?? Try Prenatal Yoga. This session will explore the benefits of Yoga during all stages of pregnancy. Includes ½ hour of info followed by ½ hour of practice led by certified Prenatal Yoga Instructor, Michelle. Namaste! You will be making some easy felt items and be given numerous options to expand on simple fun learning at home. Gym time encourages you to get active with your children. Children will enhance their co-ordination, balance and gross motor skills. Please wear clean indoor athletic shoes. Please enjoy food and beverages in the café.

You know her and love her... April Shaw from Speech Services Niagara will be here with an interactive story time! April will lead us through a variety of songs, sounds and simple literacy activities that promote early language skills. Registration is NOT required. Come & enjoy! Recreational Swimming at the YMCA Canada encourages that all children are a minimum of six months of age to participate. One adult per child is required for water activities. If your child is not fully toilet trained they must wear swim diapers or plastic pants. A mouth watering fresh baked cookie and glass of homemade orange juice will be available to enjoy after the tour. No wagons please. This morning we will walk to the Bus Terminal and board a city bus bound for the Pen Centre!

5 Infant Child Development Specialist This is an opportunity to sit informally with an Infant Development Therapist, and have your questions answered. They are a wonderful source of knowledge, and are able to suggest simple solutions, complete assessments, make referrals and help with the many mysteries about children from birth to 24 months. A great time to connect with your baby (birth - 8 months), enjoy a relaxing time together, benefit by improving baby s circulation, growth and development, and much more. Join Susie for this 4-week session as we introduce baby to rhymes, rhythms and repetition the keys to early literacy development. Parent/caregiver and baby (birth 12 months) will participate in weekly songs, rhymes, musical stories and parachute activities. ICDS, Jodi Kostyniuk from Public Health, will offer this opportunity to get the low-down on tummy-time. Jodi will also answer any developmental questions you may have. Bring along your 3-12 month old and spend an hour looking at, reading and talking about appropriate books for this age. Well Baby Clinic and Parenting Drop-in Every Wednesday 9am noon at The Well Baby Clinic and Parenting Drop in is a FREE service available to parents and families of children from birth to 12 months. These clinics will run once per week and a Public Health Nurse will be available to help families weigh their infant and answer questions about healthy growth and development, nutrition or breastfeeding concerns, and other issues parents face following the birth of their child.

An easy, seasonal craft for our little ones to enjoy. Children months will have fun painting a small Halloween pumpkin. Itsy-Bitsy Spider Thursday October 27 Halloween Activity Book Halloween Handprint Monster Thursday October am Friday, October 28 Site With Halloween just around the corner, join us today to make a not so itsy- bitsy spider. Children of 15 months and older. Turn Halloween into a learning experience for your toddler, ages 2 and older. This ghoulish Make & Take activity will enhance fine motor, literacy and numeracy skills. It s fun to make spooky crafts at Halloween. Join us today as we create all kinds of different Monster faces from your child s hand prints. This craft is for children ages 2 and older. Resource Consultants Resource consultants will visit our sites monthly to support our OEYC program staff with developmental screenings, support families with referral process for further developmental and/or diagnostic follow-up and suggest play-based goal plan recommendations for any child in attendance. The first 5 years are the most important years of a child s life as it lays the foundation upon which future learning is built.
