Research can be conducted in the form of literature review, experimental study, modelling, simulation, computational, case study, survey, etc. Research findings should be reported in the form of introduction, objectives of research, scope of study, literature review, research methodology, data collection/experimental work, data analysis, results and discussions, conclusions and recommendations, and references. A scientific report in the form of a thesis should be submitted at the end of the research and the student is required to communicate the findings of the research through an oral presentation. Ferrocement. special concretes. 25 KAEA4347 GIS FOR CIVIL ENGINEERING The course focuses on the principles and concepts of GIS and the tools of spatial information analysis that results in recommending fast and efficient solutions to everyday problems. Hands-on-experience with a GIS software is provided through a series of laboratory works. The course introduces soil as engineering material. It includes brief introduction on soil formation and its physical characteristics. Also includes identification, classification and description of soil for engineering purposes. Application of mechanics on soil such as 8
