1 Learning Targets are used as a baseline for our learning in the areas of Reading, Writing, and Math. These are the ESSENTIAL skills that all first graders must be able to do by the end of each quarter. We will be enriching our teaching and going beyond these baselines.

I can write a story with two or more events using words that tell order and have closure. I can focus on a topic, respond to questions, and add details to strengthen my writing. I can be part of a group research and writing project. I can write about a topic or book, give you my opinion, reason for it, and give a sense of closure. I can write informational text by naming a topic, giving facts and closure. I can use technology to make and publish my writing, including working with my classmates. I can remember experiences and collect information from sources to answer a question.
