1 THINK CAREER, THINK PEER For Apprenticeships & Traineeships

2 I was good at Maths so I was drawn to an Electrical apprenticeship. PEER offer really good job security and experience because they send you to different host employers and we gain a variety of experience which you probably wouldn t get with a direct employer. Issac Carmody, Electrical Apprentice About PEER PEER offers training and employment opportunities now and into the future. The journey starts with VET in Schools or pre-apprenticeship training for school leavers. PEER offers job security by placing apprentices with a variety of host companies throughout the duration of their apprenticeship to ensure at the end they become a qualified tradesperson. PEER s Vision PEER is dedicated to providing excellence in Training and Employment in collaboration with the Electrotechnology, Plumbing and associated industries. PEER s Mission To ensure PEER is recognised publicly and considered as the Training Provider of Choice by job seekers, employers, students and the construction industry in South Australia. Who are PEER and what does PEER VEET stand for? PEER VEET, often referred to just as PEER is an acronym for: P - Plumbing E - Electrical E - Electronic (Data Communications) R - Refrigeration V - Vocational E - Education E - Employment T - Training

3 The apprenticeship has been awesome. I m learning from teachers who are Electricians. I ve also enjoyed getting the different tickets and licenses. Samuel Brien, Electrical Apprentice Why choose PEER? PEER is a Group Training Organisation (GTO) and a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) providing employment and training under the one roof. We are a not for profit organisation providing above average completion rates in apprenticeships. We have a considerable network of clients and stakeholders which include: employers, industry partners, government and industry associations. PEER communicates regularly with our stakeholders to ensure we get up-to-date information about standards, new initiatives, new technologies and industry advice. Our Board Members are at the heart of the industry sectors we service and provide both governance and technical direction to our organisation. Training PEER has a long history of training VET in school students in our Technical Training College and partnering with schools in South Australia to provide this service. We also provide Pre-Apprenticeship training to school leavers wishing to pursue a career in the Plumbing and Electrotechnology trades. PEER is passionate about training for these skills-indemand occupations which are essential in the building, construction and related contracting industries throughout Australia. PEER also provides short courses for individuals who need basic licences to work in the Building and Construction Industry, in addition to upskill training for qualified tradespeople looking at gaining specialised job skills.

4 I ve been associated with PEER for over 25 years. The staff s passion and support for apprentices has been second to none, and I ve seen that first hand as an employer and father of a PEER plumbing graduate. Rob Pavan, Manager Business Development CDC Plumbing and Drainage Employment PEER is a large employer of apprentices in the Plumbing and Electrotechnology Industries in South Australia. We employ many VET in School graduates every year and as an employer we keep in direct contact with students throughout the duration of their VET training.
