There is a buzz of excitement in the school as props are appearing, snippets of wonderful singing are heard and Mr Gray has turned into a stage director. Yes, it is the count down to the Upper Key Stage Two play! Our Foundation children have been perfect hosts all week and welcomed some of our new September starters to the school. We have been extremely proud of how they have demonstrated all the values we hold at Jeavons Wood, showing us they are more than ready to make the move to Year One. This week I have had the pleasure of accompanying our school adviser on a Science learning walk. She was extremely impressed with the practical science, excellent teaching and the way the children engaged in their learning. Behind the scenes, we are finalising reports, next year s classes, end of year data and ensuring all the staff are in place for September. It is an extremely busy time in school so please be patient with us if we don t get back to you straight away. We have been extremely fortunate, in a time of difficulties with recruitment, to appoint excellent people to the posts. I will be writing to you about this once we have finalised the last couple of appointments next week. Have a lovely weekend and let s hope for some sun! School Office Until further notice please be aware that the School Office will be closed from 15:30 on Fridays. Phones will remain on until 16:30 as usual though. 2 Year 1 Beach Walk from Mrs. Day Year 1 will be walking to the 'beach' at Upper Cambourne Park on Wednesday 20th July. We will be spending the afternoon in the park enjoying cakes and cookies and building sandcastles with our friends form The Vine School. We will need some parents to spend the afternoon with us. If you are able to offer help, please see Mrs Day. Please also remember your empty Pringle tubes and clear trifle/pudding pots (for Lighthouse making) by Friday 1st July. Thank you Locality Family Workers sessions from Mrs. Hubbard Sam and Clare, the locality family workers will be running a session on effective discipline and boundary setting in school on Monday 27th June at 2pm. This will finish at 3pm. Please come to the School Office and sign in. Picnic lunch from Mrs. Hubbard You will shortly be receiving a flyer for a picnic lunch planned for Friday 15th July. If your child would like to participate in this lunch and it is NOT their normal meal pattern please let the School Office know asap so a meal can be ordered. Drum kit request from Mr. Gray UKS2 are looking for a drum kit which we can borrow for our upcoming production. If you have one which you are happy to lend us for a few days, please contact the School Office or myself. Many Thanks. Book Amnesty from Mr. Gray Recently, we have purchased new books for the library. As such, we need to add them to the system, and sort through what we already have. We are therefore asking for a book amnesty - can all library books please be returned to school straight after half-term. We will then sort things as quickly as possible so the library can be put in use again. Reading scheme books used in Foundation, KS1 or LKS2 can still continue to be used as normal. Thank you for your co-operation. Tempest update from the School Office Tempest are busy creating the whole-class photo proof and order form. We hope to receive it shortly, they have us as a priority to ensure that we can get the photographs ordered back to you before we break up for the summer. We will keep you posted, thank you for your patience.
