Preposition Describes the relationship between a noun or a pronoun and another word in the sentence. The bird was in the tree. Pronoun A word that can be used in place of a noun or noun phrase. His boots are red and hers are blue. Pronouns Underline the pronouns. 1. I was careful on the muddy pathway. 2. She gave her boots to Susan. 3. The baby bird had a worm in its mouth. 4. They were excited to see the first cherry blossoms. 5. Yesterday, we walked to the park. 6. The flowers are pretty as they blow in the breeze. Rewrite the sentence below replacing the nouns with pronouns. Colton walked in the rain with Julie.

6 Conjunctions Underline the conjunctions. 1. Thunder and lightening boomed overhead. 2. There were daffodils blooming in the park, but no tulips. 3. I couldn t decide whether to go the park or stay inside. 4. The garden tools are in the shed so they stay dry. 5. I jumped over the puddles because I did not want to get wet. 6. Susie went outside, even though it was raining. Write a sentence below using a conjunction. Conjunction Conjunctions join sentences, phrases or clauses together. I went to the park, because it was a sunny day. Interjection Interjections are words used to express a strong emotion or sudden feeling. Oh no! I dropped my ice cream cone. Interjections Underline the interjections. 1. Ouch! screamed Joseph when he pricked his thumb on a thorn. 2. Hurry, it s starting to rain. 3.
