E N W! Channels for heavy duty loads 100 % recyclable Exceptionally light Accepts loads to Class E FILCOTEN T Product range.

T the innovative concrete composite! We have developed a new material for our channel manufacturing process that unites many key advantages: reduced weight, increased strength and impact resistance - and eco-friendliness too. Channel bodies made from FILCOTEN compound - already proven in their effectiveness! The first HIGH-TECH concrete channel to offer long-term protection of the environment! Impact resistant and robust Pioneering - environmentally sustainable thanks to a FILCOTEN compound body accepts loads to Class E up to 50 % less raw materials and weight make for an ecologically sound product For the sake of our environment... The manufacturing process and the FILCOTEN mix of constituent materials have enabled us to produce channels that are 100% recyclable and eco-friendly. This has been confirmed by an Environmental Impact Certificate and the accompanying test reports issued by the Soil and Construction Materials Testing Centre in Linz. What s more, the Institut für Baubiologie Rosenheim GmbH has awarded us the TESTED AND RECOMMENDED BY THE IBR seal of approval. For consumer information, this institute has set itself the objective of identifying building products that promote healthy living and are eco-friendly. 2

ECO-FRIENDLY Natural building materials % recyclable able to be disposed of safely as construction waste, tested by the nationally-accredited Soil and Construction Materials Testing Centre in Linz, Austria ECO-FRIENDLY! Tested and recommended by the IBR non-polluting - free of resins, solvents and heavy metals - no styrene vapours, no biocides, no particulate pollution Reduced harmful environmental impact lower transport costs - reduced CO 2 emissions, no noise or dust pollution during manufacture IMPACT RESISTANT AND ROBUST Fibre-reinforced concrete-based material extremely rugged and temperature resistant - extremely high impact strength Accepts loads to Class E bears truck/forklift traffic Resistant to de-icing salts tested according to EN 1433 by the Soil and Construction Materials Testing Centre IMPACT RESISTANT AND ROBUST! UV-resistant / non-flammable not flammable because free of resins and other `flammable components q Higher flexural strength than conventional concrete products MIFAB, Inc West 119th Street, Chicago, Illinois , USA Toll Free , Fax

T FEATURES 1 Available with 2 different edges: Galvanized steel or stainless steel 6 Optimised channel geometry for maximum discharge rates and self-cleaning effect 2 Multiple anchorage points help to embed channel edges into cement-based grouts 7 Anchorage pockets for a secure hold in concrete foundations - and to counteract upward forces along the channel length 3 Edges with pre-formed indents for the fix self-locking system 8 Outlet preforming provided as standard in every channel 9 Solid ribs for maximum sidewall strength 4 Sealable channel groove for a tight joint between individual sections 5 Smooth interior surface for superior flow properties Applications. These T1500 channels are particularly suitable for installation in commercial areas such as production plants and workshops, warehouses, car parks, car dealerships, petrol filling stations, in public areas and amenities such as pedestrian zones, residential areas, parks, sports complexes, town squares, railway stations as well as cycle and foot paths. In private dwellings they are used for driveways and courtyard access roads, terraces and similar surfaces. 4

10 Easy to install - fix self-locking system on every grating. The new fix self-locking system offers a four-point securement of covers in channel bodies. The locking clips on every grating type simply snap into the allocated notches on the side edges to fix the grating into position easily and securely. 11 Lugs on the underside of the cover prevent it from longitudinal movement T1500 Edges for every application! FILCOTEN T1500 channel bodies are available with galvanized steel or stainless steel edges (h-shaped). Galvanized steel edges Stainless steel edges 5

T the professional channel for civil engineering! i Key advantages. Two different edge types (Galvanized steel or stainless steel) Channels with or without interior slope of 0.5 % in all nominal widths Half-metre elements for channels without slope (Nos. 0, 5-0, 10-0) Gratings from Class A to E in perforated, slotted or elongated bar design Gratings with the fix self-locking system, protection against longitudinal movement and optional anti-vandalism locking devices Anti-vandalism locking device. Every grating type can also be fitted with an anti-vandalism locking device for each nominal width as an additional safeguard for the new fix self-locking system. Here s how it s done: Step 1: Insert the anti-vandalism locking device into the provided locking clips Step 2: Place the grating in the FILCOTEN pro channel Step 1 Step 2 Step 3: Push the grating firmly into the channel until it rests squarely on the edges Step 4: Secure the anti-vandalism locking device by tightening the bolt Step 3 6 Step 4

General installation guidelines: The following installation guidelines and installation examples are intended for conventional applications. The load class and installation site, as specified in DIN19580, must be adapted to local conditions by the respective architectural office. The codes and regulations generally familiar to the trade must be heeded during installation. Installation instructions and installation examples: Installation instructions FILCOTEN T1500: 1. MIFAB concrete channels are to be laid on a concrete foundation, or in a drain concrete, paying attention to the desired fall during excavation. Depending on static requirements, a lateral support wedge may be necessary - for details see table and cross- sections. Channel elements should, in principle, be placed into position using the appropriate tools. 2. For sloped channels, observe the different heights. The channel run should be placed into position starting at the discharge transition point. The direction of flow on each channel is indicated by an arrow. 3. The rebated joints between individual channel bodies may be sealed or bonded using suitable sealants - refer to the MIFAB Sealing System for material descriptions and quantity determination information. 4. Insert the grating covers into channel bodies, and secure where applicable, or sufficiently brace the channel against compression prior to laying the adjoining surface covering. Take care not to damage channels during compaction of the surfacing and the surface covering (asphalt, paving stones, concrete, etc.). 5. A sufficiently large expansion joint, positioned 1 1/8-7 7/8 from the channel, must be provided at the junction to the carriageway where horizontal forces are anticipated (e.g. for concrete surfaces, inclines, etc.). Expansion joints passing across the channel run are to be positioned in the adjoining concrete surfaces so that they pass through a channel joint. 6. Depending on the application, the frequency and speed with which channels are crossed, in highly trafficked areas we recommend that covers are secured in position with the antivandalism locking device. 7. All adjacent surface coverings should be laid to be 1/8-1/4 permanently higher than the channel surface in order to avoid mechanical damage (e.g. during snow clearance) and to ensure proper water runoff. 8. We recommend the installation of drainage channels with stainless steel side edges and stainless steel covers in areas where the possibility of chemical influences (e.g. de-icing agents, acids, alkalis, etc.) is high. 9. The same installation principles apply to catch basins.
