Conform to applicable local, city and state rules and regulations pertaining to MDNR and MoDOT standards for materials and installation of the Work of this Section SUBMITTALS A. Submit shop drawings under provisions of Section B. Submit shop drawings indicating dimensions, layout of piping, gradient of slope between corners and intersections, locations and elevations of catch basins and manholes. Submit shop drawings for precast drop structure, if used, and shop drawings of precast manholes for use with pipes larger than 12 inches in diameter. C. Submit product data under provisions of Section D. Submit product data indicating pipe, pipe accessories and pipe specifications per manufacturer. E. Submit manufacturer's installation instructions under provisions of Section PROJECT RECORD DOCUMENTS A. Submit documents under provisions of Section PUBLIC STORM
3 B. Accurately record location of pipe runs, connections, manholes, and invert elevations. Submittal of this information shall be made to the Construction Manager. C. Identify and describe unexpected variations to subsoil conditions or discovery of uncharted utilities. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 MANUFACTURERS - SEWER PIPE MATERIALS A. The Contractor shall furnish to the Construction Manager, prior to starting Work, a complete list of the sources and manufacturers from which he proposed to obtain materials, and shall notify the above mentioned parties prior to any change in the source of such materials SEWER PIPE MATERIALS A. Reinforced Concrete Pipe: ANSI/ASTM C76, Class III, Class IV or Class V, as required and indicated on the Drawings, with Wall Type B and circular reinforcement; inside nominal diameter as indicated on the plans; bell and spigot end joints. B. Reinforced Concrete Pipe Joint Device: ANSI/ASTM C443, rubber compression gasket joint. C. Ductile Iron Pipe: Rubber compression Gasket Class 56. D. Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP): CMP shall comply with paragraphs through of Section 725 Metal Pipe and Pipe-Arch Culverts of the Missouri Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, edition (Missouri Standard Specifications). CMP shall be in accordance with the thickness requirements of Table 1 for Corrugated Metallic-Coated Steel Circular Pipe of Section 725. CMP material properties and coating shall be as specified in Section 1020 of the Missouri Standard Specifications for corrugated steel pipe with zinc coating. E. PVC Pipe and Fittings: ASTM F949, SDR MANHOLES AND DROP STRUCTURE A. Lid and Frame: Cast iron construction removable lid, closed checkerboard grill lid design; nominal lid and frame diameter, as approved by the Engineer PUBLIC STORM

Shaft Construction and Concentric Cone Top Section: Reinforced precast or cast-in-place concrete pipe sections, lipped male/female dry joints; cast steel ladder rungs into shaft sections at 12 inches; nominal shaft diameter as indicated on the Drawings. C. Inlets and Base Pad: Cast-in-place concrete of type specified in Section 03300; leveled top surface to receive concrete shaft sections, sleeved to receive sewer pipe sections BEDDING MATERIAL A. Porous Backfill: As specified in St. Louis County Standard Specifications, Section 1009 or Type specified in Section BACKFILL AGGREGATE A. Base Fill: Type 4 aggregate as specified in St. Louis County Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2014 editionst. Louis County Standard Specifications, Section 1007 or Type specified in Section STONE FOR EROSION PROTECTION A. St. Louis County Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, edition. (St. Louis County Standard Specifications). Stone quality and gradation as indicated on the Drawings. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION A. Verify that trench cut and excavation base are ready to receive Work, and excavations, dimensions, and elevations are as indicated on shop drawings and as indicated in the Drawings. B. Beginning of installation means acceptance of existing conditions PREPARATION A. Hand trim excavations to required elevations. Correct over excavation with fill material of fine aggregate. B. Remove large stones or other hard matter which could damage drainage tile or impede consistent backfilling or compaction PUBLIC STORM
5 3.03 INSTALLATION - PIPE A. Install pipe, fittings, and accessories in accordance with ANSI/ASTM C12 and manufacturer's instructions. Seal joints watertight. B. Place pipe on minimum 4 inch deep bed of porous backfill, as indicated on the Drawings. C. Lay pipe to slope gradients noted on layout drawings, with maximum variation from true slope of 1/8 inch in 10 feet. D. Install select backfill material at sides and over top of pipe. Provide top cover to minimum compacted thickness of 6 inches, as shown on the Drawings and as required by the municipality where sewer is to be installed. E. Place select backfill material in maximum 6 inch lifts, consolidating each lift, as shown on the Drawings and as required by the municipality or county where sewer is to be installed. Jetting of backfill material shall not be permitted. F. Increase compaction of each successive lift. Refer to Section for compaction requirements. Do not displace or damage pipe when compacting. G. Connect to manholes or detention basin as required and indicated on the Drawings. H. All sewers beneath structures, pavements and future railroad shall be backfilled with granular backfill, as indicated on the Drawings INSTALLATION - MANHOLES A. Form bottom of excavation clean and smooth to correct elevation. B. Form and place cast-in-place concrete base pad, with provision for storm sewer pipe end sections. C. Establish elevations and pipe inverts for inlets and outlets as indicated. D. Mount lid and frame level in grout, secured to top cone section to elevation indicated. E. Install rock blanket at locations indicated on the Drawings and as required by MoDOT FIELD QUALITY CONTROL A. Field inspection will be performed under provisions of Sections and PUBLIC STORM
6 B. Request inspection by Construction Manager, municipality, MDNR and/or MoDOT as applicable prior to and immediately after placing backfill cover over pipe PROTECTION A. Protect finished installation under provisions of Section B. Protect pipe and filter aggregate from damage or displacement until backfilling operation is in progress BUILDING SEWER CONNECTIONS A. Connections to building sewers shall be made with rigid reducing cast iron fittings REMOVALS-ABANDONMENT A. All sewer pipe labeled DAR (Demolish and Remove) by the Drawings, which does not interfere with the new construction may be grouted full with an approved grout material and left in place, at the Contractor's option. All sewer pipe labeled TBA (to be abandoned) shall be securely blocked in accordance with requirements of the local city ordinances, MDNR, and MoDOT. END OF SECTION PUBLIC STORM
