1 TVSS (Transient Voltage Surge Suppressors) What is a Transient Voltage Surge? 3 How Surge voltage travel? TVS travels via: The coupling of surge voltage from one system to another can be Inductive, Capacitive or Galvanic. Inductive Coupling This occurs with magnetic field of a current carrying conductor. This magnetic field induces the voltage peaks in nearby current loop. Capacitive Coupling Possible discharge from one conductor to another conductor where there are large potential difference. Galvanic coupling Here surges voltages couple directly from the interference source to susceptible equipment using common impedances. What does a Transient Voltage Surge (TVS) Cause? TVS causes: 1.
