STUDENT LIFE PROGRAM The Academy has long recognized its obligation to help students become independent people. This process involves the students confronting their own growth here and integrating all of the aspects of their lives at the Academy. In response to this obligation, the Student Life Program has been established to provide guidance for this growth and integration. The Deans Office is the cornerstone of the Student Life Program. Dean of Student Life Wendy Skinner oversees the student life programs in her role as chief student advocate. As Director of Residential Life, she also works with residential students and faculty to enhance on-campus life. Form deans work with their respective classes and the class officers to organize form activities and programs, and help the Dean of Student Life and Dean of Academic Affairs coordinate and implement the student life programs, especially in regards to helping students develop academically and socially. FORM DEANS Form III IV V VI Dean Ms. Michele Greene Mr. Paul Ejzak Ms. Bonnie McCarthy Mr. Chad Fularz Along with the deans, other student life faculty members are available to provide information and offer assistance as students settle into their lives and responsibilities as members of the school community. Director of Personal Counseling Mr. Creighton Runnette is available to all students (and their parents) who seek information, advice or assistance as they encounter problems and attempt to cope with them. Nurse Ms. Donna Giel is available for any medical or health concerns or advice. Director of Learning Support Mr. Jonathan Johnson is available to students who seek assistance in reaching their full academic potential. The Advisory Program is administered by Ms. Mary Krauland. Faculty members and administrators are advisors. Each advisor has a group of advisees and will meet with them individually on a regular basis. Parents will receive a phone call of introduction from their son s/daughter s advisor in September. Dean of Academic Affairs Mr. David Szlachetka provides a direct link between the student life program and the traditional academic program.
